I got bad news.
I believe thats how the game supposed to function.
You’re not supposed to be able to play 1 hero a whole match rather pick a hero for moments and fights. Or to counter.

As we build new heroes and balance the existing cast for our new 5v5 PvP experience, we have shifted our hero design approach to allow you to have an impact on your matches with a range of different heroes and strategies. This means reducing the presence of specific hard counters to heroes.
For example, in the original Overwatch—especially at higher skill levels—the strongest way to shut down a great enemy Tracer diving into your support line was to swap over to Cassidy. If that Cassidy player was effective enough, the Tracer could even feel a need to switch themselves to avoid that hard counter. While Overwatch 2 heroes will each have their own clear strengths and weaknesses, and some heroes will be more effective against others, we believe our game plays better and is more fun with fewer hard counters and a broader range of effective hero picks. A further benefit is having your personal favorite heroes be viable more often. That philosophy will be guiding us moving forward."
It is a reasonable and justifiable complaint, that you are frustrated when you get counter-picked, or feel forced off your hero. Team4 said this is something they recognize and plan to work on. And I’m still waiting for that to happen.
Until then, I say more power to the people who bring up these kinds of complaints.
That’s a laugh. One year later and we still have the exact same problems. Almost like 5v5 was a terrible mistake and they should just rip the band-aid off and go back to 6v6.
Sure. But she is hard countered, like extremely hard countered by multiple characters in each role and by the easiest characters to play. They literally hold a button and walk at her and she can’t do anything.
It shouldn’t be that easy.

I feel like she’s still playable on maps that favor high ground and mobility. Also depends on team followup. Gibraltar first 2 points. Eichenwald middle. Hollywood middle. Paraiso.

That’s the nature of the beast…
I find, dva players tend to underestimate how much healing they actually require from supports, compared to other tanks…
She already does with her armor. Your supports are just going to have to heal you through it.
Thats the thing about counters.
Micheal irving has a saying.
Attack a man where hes weak beat him.
Attack a man where he’s strong break him.
You beat down on your counter thats an auto win. You have broken that person because if they can’t counter they got nothing else.
I’ve done that too, but I have a feeling Zarya wasn’t their main.
Ive had entire teams rage swap to hitscan… still won as pharah. >.>
A good player can win against “counters” its not the i win button people treat it like
5v5 was as bad a mistake as 2-2-2/6v6 was. Both changes were reasonable, well-sounding ideas at their time. But just like 2-2-2, 1-2-2 was poorly implemented. There weren’t adequate enough changes made to the game to accommodate the switch.
While it is debatable whether or not 6v6 is actually better than 5v5 AT THE MOMENT, let’s not pretend it was without its problems. And I truly believe that if they had made the necessary adjustments to the game before ow2 launched, 5v5 could’ve been the best version of ow2 we know.
But, even now we’ve got hero reworks coming out left, right and center. Things that honestly should’ve been done before release. Now they’re playing catch up, and still putting out sub-par hero reworks imo.
5v5 isn’t the problem. It’s the Team4’s work that is the problem. But with Rob Tickletoes leaving the scene soon, we’ll have another chance to see how they operate with some more breathing room.

I cant think of one change that actually benefited both the health of the game and the ENTIRE playerbase… since ow2 launched.

team 4 has changed alot though it hasnt gotten any better if we had jeff back i feel things would change for the good
If you can play them and out play the zaraya yes…
Your ablity as a player is more important than the hero choice which is a close second
