I am now in the triple digits despite last season being 1 game win from getting to silver. I seriously am starting to think that match making is against you. With the sheer amount of hours I have in this game I shouldn’t be this low…Do I have to learn every single character in the game in order to climb? What does it take to climb??? It is absolutely no fun putting so much time and effort into the game and not climb.
you’re a sombra in bronze
what did you expect ? play hero that not so relaying on the team
Didn’t you know, you have to play only what your team tells you to play.
If you play any other toon, you are not conforming to the team and you should lose.
Meta is the S$$T and if you don’t play it your a thrower.
Get with the program.
Get good as the society of OW tells you.
Its not the matchmaker, its all you.
I am a good sombra and have the highest winrate with her in my entire hero pool and have 200 something hours on her. Trying to add yet another hero to my large hero pool that I barely can play will in no way help me climb it will just make me lose more because I would be learning someone new from scratch. And the “bronze sombra” excuse is nonsense. Everyone that is good with a hero used that hero despite their rank. Do you think tracer mains only played her for the first time once they were in masters? Or do you think that they are good with her because they, you know, ACTUALLY PLAYED HER BEFORE BEING HIGH RANK AND GOT USED TO HER PLAYSTYLE? Same goes for Sombra. It has nothing to do with my character choice. I would understand if I barely started playing Sombra and posted this but that isn’t the case since I have so many hours on her.
i dont want to be an as!shole but you got 25% weapon accuracy and 2.3 elims per life
that not an immersive stats consider you’re in bronze
there’s easy heroes you can climb with , DVA , briggite .moira
i imagine playing mccree should be a walk in park in your SR ,becuase people dont know how to dodge in Quick play and your rank is like QP but worse , no offense
you really dont get how the hero works dont you , you saying that you played 200h on her ,but it’s not sounds like it , it’s not a hero who can solo carry the team (it’s can but not in higher ranks)
sombra relays on her team getting value out of her hacks , in bronze team work dont really exist and that why sombra isnt a good pick , she super relays on her team to make something out of her ult and hacks
I was a D.VA main and I used to play alot of Moira. You know what I never did with those heroes that I HAVE DONE WITH SOMBRA? Almost solo climb to Silver. You people are just bias against bronze. I made a post when I was a D.VA main and was told “no crap you are a D.VA main in bronze” It doesn’t matter who a bronze player mains. People see bronze and automatically, no matter the hero, Just claim in is their hero pick that is the problem. When most people that have been in bronze also took forever to climb out of it. Like several seasons. The only people that tend to be super negative about someones pick are people that never had to climb out of bronze. I don’t mean making a smurf and climbing out I mean being placed there from the start and then climbing out. I saw a post last month of a junkrat player having a hard time and some Diamond player claimed that he couldn’t climb because he is a “bronze junkrat”
Lost 17 matches so far
Sombras kit doesn’t really allow her to carry in the way a pharah could, you need kills. Get good with pharah and two shot most of the enemy team, hit scans in Bronze aren’t very good so you can absolutely dominate.
Add my account (Genjiass#1146) and dm me sometime, I’d love to see how you play Sombra in-game.
I enjoy playing her, maybe we can both learn something
once again your sombra stats are bad
your all damage done is really small for a dps
and same goes for your elims , you get something like 17 elims per game on avg
that not an immersiv stats for bronze level ,how do you want to be silver if you get only 17 elims per game , i’m sitting with 24 avg elims per game with my mccree and i’m not complaining why i’m not diamond , i dont think this stats belong to diamond
ofc sombra job not really kill people but hack them , but we going back to the main problem- people in this level dont really do any team work
and if you play 200h on dva , i can guarantee you be at least plat ,if not master
instead of being “dare to be different” if 5 people on your team are agreeing to play a working composition, you should join in with them (as it is a team game, contrary to popular opinion here) and you will win more. It really comes down to that.
Oh and my word of advice is… the easiest way to see if you can climb IS checking your stats.
If they’re unnaturally high you’re higher rank, if you barely die/find yourself the only one alive after/doing teamfights you’re probably doing something right.
Its either mechanical skill or game sense that’s lacking, my bronze friend (900~1200 range) once showed me bronze gameplay where she was standing behind the enemy Orisa and waving for a solid minute, the enemy team didn’t see her once xD
First of all, the match making is not against you. From a marketing point of view it is just not interesting to make a game that punishes the player base. Blizzard will never do that.
That being said you need to ask yourself the good questions.
Sombra which is your main is a team dependant character. She also does not bring a lot of fire power. The current meta is HP/armor heavy. DVA your second most played character is also one of the least effective tank atm.
So in your next games you should keep track of the following.
- Do my team follow up on EMP? How often? Is my ult feel worth it or not?
- Do I manage to actually kill people myself or do I finished off low targets? Do I really have an impact damage wise?
My educated guess would be the negative for all of this. It has nothing to do with you or your skills really, it is just that at diamond level people do not always follow up on EMP, and Tracer which does twice the damage of Sombra barely kills anything in the current meta. In short your picks, make it harder for you to climb.
You can accept this and have fun playing you main anyway (like me), but it that case you cannot really complain because you know you make it harder than it should be to begin with.
Or choose to try to climb and take a more effective all around pick. As your characters are “tracking base” I would recommend Zarya, but your accuraccy is kind of low anyway, so you should try all the meta picks and see what fits you more.
I just suck and don’t deserve to rank up. Just forget that I ever posted this.
A friend of mine is a 2.3k Sombra and team only follows up about 1/3 of his hacks. Sometimes he hacks things in the wrong place and others his team lack the game sense to follow up. Game sense at bronze must be far worse.
If you want really great advice, post a vid of a game. You’ll get slated for all your errors, but you’ll learn so much. I posted up Lucio vid for review and since applying as many points as I can my kd ratio has increased from 2 to 3.
Is hard to get better overnight as I have a list of a dozen points to work on, but can only improve so much at a time.
You won’t necessarily win more immediately, as match maker casino still in effect, but your odds will greatly improve.
Also, you need to adapt. Last season I fell from 2.3k to 1.7k trying to tank for teams that were too stupid to tank for, or where the new meta was making tanks less relevant anyway.
This season I’ve tried to act as a second support to some teams with really weak dps. I’d have been better playing a 4th or 5th dps and trying to bolster my team’s chances at killing stuff.
It doesn’t matter which hero you play in bronze. If you have decent mechanical skill and positioning you will climb. Whoever tells you that you’re stuck because of your hero is straight up wrong.
I’d advise you to watch gameplay of higher ranked players and record your gameplay to find mistakes you’re doing and avoid them.
Also your mouse sensitivity might be too high based on your accuracy. Try gradually lowering it instead of straight up setting it to a really low value. That way you’ll stay comfortable with it and it will improve your aim in the long term. If you want to improve your aim faster, you should straight up set it much lower, although you might need more time to get used to it.
no one said you suck and that you dont deserve to rank up.
i agree with what you said that it takes someone who actually climbed out of bronze to know how it is.
i started in bronze around season 4, i mained soldier at first but i found out that i was just not doing as much in comp play as i did in QP with soldier…
i switched my main and after a ton of grinding i managed to climb out of bronze and eventually into plat
you need to understand what your team needs each game, sometimes you will get terrible teammates and will probably lose no matter what you do, but sometimes you get a good team.
you need to try and learn something from each game, if you won, was it because of you?did you carry the team? did you help carry? if so good, if not, what did you do wrong?
for a lose, was there something you could do to prevent that? kill a key target, switch to a hero as a counter for the enemy, did you do enough damage, did you die too often?
try recording your gameplay if you can and learn from that…
having 200H on a hero does not make you good with that hero, you might have learned bad habits with them that you might need to change,
check out vods from pros that play your main hero and try to learn from them
also, from checking out your games from today, you played way too many heros in my opinion
you need to narrow your pool down, get from 4 to 8 heros you know to play, preferably from diffrent roles you need a good tank and a good healer heros you can take to felx too, try to understand what best serves the team,
sombra in the current meta might be problematic because you cant deliver enough damage through the armor,
your zarya might be really good though, you should try and foucus on her maybe,
but you should work on the charge you get, a high charge zarya is a team killer.
Meta doesn’t matter in bronze at all. Junkrat was in every game even before he got his buff last year. It doesn’t really matter what to play in bronze because anyone just picks what he wants. As long as you have minimum one healer and one tank, everything could work there.
I once ranked down to high bronze on purpose (tbf this was a wrong thing of me to do). I played one game in bronze and went Torb there on Lijiang Tower. My team was complaining about my pick and even though the enemy was running Junkrat, Roadhog and Mei, they were unable to do anything. Although all three of them are good picks against a Torb, especially on koth maps.
If you have at least decent knowledge of where to be and where not to be and have at least decent aim, you can win most games. If you know how to notice and punish out of position enemies, it will be even easier to climb. Though that is sth that most Plat and many Diamond players still fail to do. But it is much easier to put into practice in lower ranks.
come on now , dont put it this way
you wanna play sombra ? ok , learn from your mistakes , see what you’re doing wrong work on your position , i would love to help you but i’m no sombra pro , in fact if i would play her i would be stuck as well
try to work on your aim , do some DMs with her ,try anna bot no bodyshot , helped me somewhat with my mccree
here may help you

and dont try to rank up , try to improve , fck rank dude it’s broken , play for fun and for improvement
Naw don’t give up that easily. Do you suck? Yeah. But luckily for you, that is extremely easy to fix with a small amount of effort on your part. Save any physical or mental disability, anybody can reach at least plat with proper effort.
