I got disconnected from the servers right at the beginning of a game and now I’m stuck on the entering game message on the title screen. Restarting hasn’t fixed it.
This has happened to me too this night. Was working fine earlier today.
I am having the same issue I tried repairing game files and now I can not even launch the game because the repair fails and gives error code BLZBNTAGT00000BB8 in which none of the solutions work.
i uninstalled and reinstalled and my game works now
How are we able to appeal a ban, that’s completely their servers fault? I had a ban this morning for 8 hours, and the server dropped me again just now. Chances are I’m getting screwed again and getting banned for 24 hrs this time
Yep, there it is, after about 5 minutes of trying, at the beary least it was 5 or more, I got back into the game and now I’ve been banned for their trash servers being terrible and now have to wait 20 hours to play
This has been happening to me in competitive ever since the update made on the 13th. To clarify, I’m on PS5, and the issue seems specifically related to competitive-- I rarely have issues with QP.
There are a significant number of console players reporting the same issue on Overwatch subreddits. Blizzard has acknowledged that LC-208 is an issue that still seems to be impacting “some players” and that they are looking into it, but there is very little transparency and since it doesn’t appear to be impacting very many PC players, it doesn’t seem to be a priority.
I just finished a 24 hour suspension for getting kicked due to server errors, and I am afraid to play again since I’ve seen some players being banned for all of Season 1. You can appeal a ban, but the ticket system seems to indicate you have to provide “proof your account is compromised”.
The fact that there is no way to differentiate between people experiencing server error disconnections and people who choose to willingly back out of a competitive match is completely unacceptable.
Until this issue is resolved, they should stop giving these penalties in general. I know that will be abused by some, but it’s completely unfair to console competitive players that are effectively unable to play the game right now. This really needs higher attention and transparency on an ETA. If this is not fixed in the upcoming planned update for the 25th, Blizzard is basically telling console players they don’t care about them.
I agree, and you’re right, it isn’t a priority to them.
I had the same thought about why getting banned for competitive, especially during season 1, where server issues are rampant right now, is even a penalty at all.
It just makes no sense, but to be honest, this would happen even when I was playing the first Overwatch, at the end of it’s lifespan. And even then I had 300+ mbps and would still randomly experience server issues.
So I don’t understand, do they just not care enough to fix it on console, or are they just that negligent that they only give a damb about the pc issues?
Yea it’s happening to me to I got banned three times already
I was just perm banned from season 1, and without ever having actually left a match
Imagine that, so great
I’m banned for 19 hours now, although I rejoin the match after each disconnect.
i like the game but I’m afraid to play again to avoid permanent ban.
Just got done with my 24 hour suspension after the servers have kicked me out of competitive multiple time. The issue seems to be only a problem with competitive for console players, and once a player is disconnected from a game they won’t be allowed to log back in until the match is completed therefore counting the disconnect as a leavers penalty and suspending the player.
