"Lost connection to game server" on Startup

Hi all, I’ve been playing OW 1/2 for years now and received this error for the first time just a few days ago. I have tried every step in this “Disconnection Problems” troubleshooting page which includes flushing DNS/ping, ensuring there are no firewall or security issues, optimising and resetting my network connection, uninstalling both OW and Battle.net launcher and reinstalling them, etc.

Every time I try to load up the game, I am brought to the menu screen but around half the time my store and credit balance isn’t loading and the bottom right panels about new releases/events are not displaying properly. After around 15-30 seconds of loading into the menu, regardless of whether I try to enter a game or not, the application shows me a screen that says “Lost connection to game server.”

I can also try to upload my dxdiag, msinfo, and WinMTR if required. I tried contacting support but they just sent me the same article I already followed in its entirety with no success. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Blizz offers connection troubleshooting as a courtesy service. Players in the forum might have an idea what’s happening. Can you post the WinMTR on Pastebin and link here?

Hi, sorry for the delay.

There is an issue happening between your PC and your DSL modem.

Host - % Sent Recv Best Avrg Wrst Last
myfastgate.nexxt - 7 :warning: 66 62 2 98 :warning: 3629 :warning: 2
10.103.123.30 - 7 :warning: 66 62 3 106 :warning: 3648 :warning: 15

The normal response time between the PC and the modem should be a best value of 0ms, average of 0–2ms, and worst of 2–3ms. As you can see, the values on your network are much higher, sometimes experiencing delays of over 3.6 seconds. You’ll want to consult with the ISP, as they may need to replace the device.
