Lore Question: Balderich's Armor

So… I recently re-watched some old shorts and in Honor and Glory a question came to mind which I actually wondered about already when the short released but never actually asked or saw an answer to in general.

In the short we see Balderich making his last stand within Eichenwalde’s Castle, falling into the throne and dying right there, covered by his armor… later in the short and ingame we see his Suit still being there in the same position he died in… now my question is this: Was Balderich’s Body recovered after the war/attack and properly buried with his suit being placed back into this position as a tribute to his last stand or does the Castle and the suit within serve as his tomb for that matter?

I’d love if someone from the team could give an official answer, if that didn’t already happen… after all the short released 2 years ago.

I would imagine, yes, that he was buried. What with the Crusaders being all knight inspired and chivalrous, I would be shocked if he wasn’t buried, especially because Reinhardt knew he was going to die in the castle.

I think since the castle already looked pretty abandoned they chose to honor him by leaving the place where he died in battle as his final resting place

Yeah, I think that it was a warzone and they left him there. I don’t see why the armour would be left there if they took him out of it.

In the lore, Crusaders are to be left at the spot where they die and their armor becomes their tomb to tell their story. If you play on this map in-game (Eichenwalde) he is in fact still there in that chair, and you can even see the Overwatch coin in-game where he placed it.
