This has been bothering me since Retribution, thanks to the 2018 Archives event Reaper Skin, Soldier: 24, we finally know what the 76 means in his alias, he’s the 76th soldier out of numerous soldiers that was experimented on in the Soldier Enhancement Program, his callsign if you will, now as far as I know, the general public has little knowledge on who S76 is, and I assume Jack wants to keep it that way, but however wouldn’t the scientists, other enhanced soldiers, heck even the person (or people) who oversaw this program know who he is since obvious reasons? is their a possibility that the Soldier Enhancement Program may play a big part on S76’s Story in the present, maybe the program are trying to silence him because he may give the program more controversy, Last time we saw him, he and Ana are in Giza (Old Soldiers and Reflections Comics), I just want to read on what people may think about this topic and hopefully find a clarification to this.
i think people are calling him soldier 76 due to the number on his bakc and how he acts like a soldier, not just criminal
Still according to his bio he’s the target of an international manhunt calling him Soldier: 76, that would defiantly draw out the Program, especially if your callsign back then was Soldier: 76 and wears a jacket with a big 76 on the back, that will make heads turn in suspicion.
given how i doubt the us government would give its supersoliders basically lettermen jackets, or possibly the us not wanting to acknowledge the program
76 is a callsign, but not necessarily the same callsign he used as part of the super soldier program.
It might be an operational callsign, so only the members of his unit/squad during the Omnic War would know. Most of those members might have died during the war, during OW, or afterwards because of Talon.
Jack Morrison is also officially dead - buried and had a memorial for him. Not a huge leap that people would rule out that it’s him, especially in fiction.

I don’t get it. It’s two completely different people. What does this have to do with Jack Morrison, the 76th soldier of the Soldier Enhancement Progream and Soldier 76?
I think the U.S knows who their hunting but I think their keeping that a secret as for the rest of the world they know that Jack Morrison is dead and buried. And nobody out side the super soldier program know the truth.

They are likely dead, it’s been 30+ years since the Soldier Enhancement Program. However, there was a journalist investigating Soldier 76 who held the suspicion he might be the so-not-dead Jack Morrison (and that suspicion has been made public), and she could dig enough into it I guess. At some point in time. We would have to wait to get more lore
