Parents are responsible for letting their kids play games of any sort. Giving a child a phone and unfettered access to the horrors out there is an active decision. Let’s not pretend OW is on the same level as anything in the hellscape known as mobile gaming.
Whenever I’ve let a nephew play Overwatch on my PC I’m always there over their shoulder, if for no other reason than to make sure they don’t spend any currency I don’t want them to spend.

There are multiple aspects that are worse than Loot Boxes and their “gambling”, mostly because 2 reasons:
You getting mad at 1 but not the other, is indeed selective.
You can’t do that without being incredibly selective, because in 2025, that is the equivalent of complaining the sky is blue. Also if you play the game, you are being used for engagement to other players, which is kinda weird unless you are an addict yourself, which would make you a hypocrite in this case. Take your pick.

This is false because Fomo is directly related to Gambling, like for example on Cards (like Pokemon) that create that false Fomo/Scaracity.
