Loot Boxes Duplicates

A while ago the loot box system was changed so higher levels would get less duplicates…

It seems since the last patch i get nothing but duplicates

Did the new update break the loot box fix ??

No, it just can’t give you legendaries every single drop, so it starts giving you duplicates all the darn time

You dont get less duplicates, you get NO duplicates until you got all items of a rariety. If you got all whites/blues you wont get more epic/legendaries but white/blue duplicates.

i dont have all the whites / blues… there are a lot of normal skins i dont have… even though im over lv 700 i used to at least get 2 whites/blues per box now fror the last 30 boxes only dups

With the current system, this is very unlikely to even happen. So I’m just gonna ask this, do you buy lower-tier items while holding loot boxes.

If your answers yes, then yes, you’ll get duplicates very often among blank/blue drops despite not having them all. The loot box generates content as of your item loot gallery is the moment you get the loot box.

i have almost every skin, missing few i dont even want…i want duplicates, so i can have enough coins for the events…

I been also getting a bunch of duplicates, and still am. Not that I am complaining just yet, but I am still missing a lot of blues and whites, but I been getting duplicates ever since the Archives update. At least I managed to get a decent amount of credits to buy two skins from last year. And I don’t buy things with the credits, not until the last day of an event. I just want to save credits tbh.

Only got like 3 duplicate purples so far. Its been mostly blue, despite still missing a lot of blue things like victory poses. Not much, but yeah.

Lootboxes roll for item rarity first THEN checks for duplicates within those rarities.

If you have locked items in the rarity you rolled it will give you a new cosmetic. But if you have unlocked all cosmetics from the rarity time it will be a duplicate.

Could you record a video of your situation, or just perhaps screenshot openings, I have a hard time understanding how one gets “a lot” of duplicates while not having the entirety of the vanilla blank/blue tier drops, especially when the system favors near to no duplicates until the tier is completed when you have a box with said rarity.

Yeah. I will. Gonna take a bit since I am going to need to grind for lootboxes, but I will.

You’ve got a silver portrait. Chances are you have basically everything in the game besides a few emotes and some skins.

Take a screenshot showing the missing blue and whites.

And thats where youre wrong. I bet youre only missing event stuff.

That isn’t actually correct. The amount of duplicates has gone down, but once you’ve got mostly everything you’ll start getting duplicates again. It mostly only affects higher levels because they have almost everything in general. I noticed once I had about a third of all the items I started getting dupes again.

Once you have all the non-event-locked whites and blues the transition to getting a lot of duplicates feels VERY sudden. As if a switch was flipped.

The good news is that once you hit this point you will scoop up future event items quite quickly. Congrats!

Loot Box Distribution Rules

  1. The rate of rarity distribution for Loot Boxes (during no seasonal event) are a minimum 3 Common (White) and 1 Rare (Blue) item, then approximately 1-out-of-5 loot boxes will replace one item with at least one Epic (Purple) item, and 1-out-13 loot boxes will replace one item with one Legendary (Gold) item. It is possible to get more than one Epic or Legendary in any given loot box but it is extremely rare.
  2. During a Seasonal Event, seasonal marked items will appear more frequently with a minimum of one seasonal item appearing in any Loot Box and the odds of getting Seasonal Epic and Legendary items are improved from that of standard loot box items.
  3. On occasion, a Rare, Epic, or Legendary item will be replaced with Gold Currency. Gold Currency can be used to purchase any items (except Player Icons) from the Standard Loot Box distribution and any items that is currently available in an active Seasonal Event. You will get 50 Gold for Rare drops, 150 Gold for Epic Drops and 500 Gold for Legendary Drops.
  4. Loot Box contents are determined at the time the Loot Box is earned or paid for and not when the Loot Box is opened. The contents takes into account of the player’s current inventory for all items in the standard loot box distribution and seperately for any seasonal event in progress, but only issues items based on the rarity distribution. You cannot hoard loot boxes to earn new items for upcoming content releases such as a new hero.
  5. If a player collect all possible Standard Distribution loot box items at a certain rarity or all items of a Seasonal Event currently in progress, they will start to earn duplicates again. Here are a few possible scenarios:
  • If a player has collected all possible standard Commons from the Standard Loot Box distribution and there is no seasonal event running, they will start to earn duplicates again for any Common items issued. The Loot Box does not instantly provide any higher rank items by default nor will it issue any seasonal items when no seasonal event is running.
  • If a player has collected all possible standard Commons from the Standard Loot Box distribution but there is a seasonal event running and they have not collected all possible commons from that seasonal distribution, they will not start to earn duplicates again for any Common items but any Common Items will be seasonal items until all possible Seasonal Common items for that Seasonal Event are earned.
  • If a player has not yet collected all possible standard Commons from the Standard Loot Box distribution but has collected all possible Seasonal Commons from a seasonal event that is currently in progress, then they may start seeing duplicates on occasion. This is because a Seasonal Loot Box must contain at least one item from that Seasonal event which is not affected by rarity distribution.
  1. If a player unlocks an item with gold currency before opening any unopened Loot Boxes, they may receive duplicates to the item they just unlocked.
  2. A Golden Loot Box is guaranteed to contain at least one Legendary Item. (There is no active promotions for a Golden Loot Box at this time.)

Ok
I did verify
I have all the whites and blues
All the ones I am Missing are Epics ( Purple ) and Legendary’s ( Gold )
and from events ( which i didn’t expect to get outside of the event )

Just seems like a dry spell when all i notice is duplicates from the loot boxes

Thanks for all the info

I have never got a duplicate. Phew.

Yea, the sudden shift from no duplicates to all duplicates is very noticeable, and you will get it every time an event ends and you can no longer get those extra event whites/blues.

I don’t have all the blue and white items and I still get ONLY duplicates since Archives ended.
