Which should I learn first?
Just flip a coin and pick JS or Python.
Make sure you always archive your projects on github. That way you have a portfolio for work.
Unreal blueprints
Between webpages and data, which sounds more interesting?
Will do.
I’m gonna learn both it’s just which one first. I was thinking about that, though. I also might learn SQL because I know places like Wells Fargo currently use that and it wouldn’t hurt to have that knowledge either. Screw it, I might just learn them all, even stupid c++. My friend says he hates that one.
Then I’d recommend python first, JS has a ton of legacy compatibility shenanigans and voodoo.
As for learning them all, being able to pick up new ones quickly is a skill that people tend to expect after a while.
JavaScript if you want to do some website designing.
Python for … I actually no quite clear on what Python does.
I mean, I am a freaking idiot. But both of these languages are great to learn, they are both not too hard to learn (not like C or C++ shudders from last C++ class) and they are both useful.
In my opinion, do Python then JavaScript. Idk, it’s just my preferences.
If it’s for work eventually, I’d say Python.
Pretty much everything, as long as there’s a plugin for it.
Just download Anaconda for an easy install with everything preloaded.
I’m a big fan of the Pandas library for work.
Takes in a spreadsheet as a spreadsheet object, instead of needing to digest it into a bunch of lists.
And I’ve been meaning too study machine learning. I.e. Scatter plots with best-fit lines, but instead of X and Y for 2 dimensions. There’s like 50 dimensions.
why would you learn a code language if you have no idea what it’s for or what you want to do with it.
i.e.
Like the overwhelming majority of python is like, data, glue code, more data, django/flask, or data but transformed except that’s still data because data.
Lots of things implements Phyton code instead of creating their own scripting language. Phyton has grown to become quite a powerful language. I’ve done work with importing and exporting 3d Models into 3D Blender with it.
Most people know Javascript only for web development front-end, but it is also use to code server-side with Node.JS as well.
Personally I would recommend C#.
- You basically learn Java on the way
- You can create an application for yourself or friends pretty fast
- If you have windows (I assume you have windows) it is super uncomplicated to get an executable file for your usage and can be easily shared with friends because most people have windows and the framework to execute your application are there without big effort (looking at Java virtual machine-> try to explain your grandma how to install that before they can use your app)
- It is super structured (I personally find javascript is a mess and would not recommend that for beginners if you don’t have the desire to make a webpage)
- You can start easy but the skill floor is high
- Companies are looking for Java/C# programmers
Why not learn Java, and basically learn C# on the way?
Anything that suits you!
But please hold in mind:
The Overwatch forums are for discussion of topics directly related to Overwatch.
The forums were designed specifically for discussions about Overwatch and related topics. Any topics not related to Overwatch, Battle.net , or Blizzard Entertainment are subject to deletion. Additionally, users who spam meaningless symbols, special characters, images, videos, or fragmented ideas that don’t contribute to a larger Overwatch conversation will find their topics subject to deletion.
I’m sure you’ll find better help in the forums/chats suited for this anyways ![]()
Because it’s good knowledge to have and I want to.
Why would you learn anything you don’t know?
I’m asking people on the Overwatch forums who play/played or know what Overwatch is. This website was also designed and coded by people who know at least some of these languages.
This topic mainly revolves around your hobby, nothing directly related to Overwatc.
And trust me it’s not an issue at all if it’s not on-topic, but do hold in mind that these forums aren’t designed for this and if it get’s closed it won’t be for no reason.
The money is in apps. get an android or apple kit, brainstorm some ideas for games/apps, or offer your services to people hoping to make some money.
Make yourself some hot .pys

because C# has more possibilities in my view and no need for JVM.
Clearly the answer is steam film maker
