Looking for a Wired "Pro" Controller

Hey OW2 crew,

Im looking for a wired “Pro” controller for my PC. I currently have an XB1 controller with a 10ft micro USB cable plugged into it and the plug is loose, so sometimes my controller will randomly disconnect, which is muy no buenos.

For the players who use a controller on PC, what brand of wired “Pro” grade controllers do you recommend?

You go wireless, the wireless seem to feel better(imo) and you just replace the wire (10 ish dollars) every 2-3 years when it gets mad.
Just using a regular black xbone controller. For like 6 years now. (Yeah, probably need a new one, but it’s still fine) Just got a new cord 2 weeks ago lol (this one is tethered)

So when I replace the controller, the cord is still good to go. No batteries needed.
And since you’re buying the cord, you could get one long enough to stretch all the way across your room. Dunno why you would, but the option is there.

Yeah, I just really prefer the lightweight feel of wired controllers. But thanks anyway :+1:

Imagine playing on PC with a controller…

The wireless controllers are probably lighter when there’s no batteries in it. I barely feel the controller (until I try and sit it on my leg)
It’s the better idea imo. When the cord goes bad on a wired, it’s all out the window.

(It slides…)

I guess that is an option

Im gonna have think on this. Good stuff SirMag :balance_scale:

mouse and keyboard…

I don’t think an overwatch forum is the right place to ask this question, lol. Why would you not try reddit or something? rofl

…Nobody uses a controller to play OW2 on PC

Joystick would like to know your location

When he pretty much only played rein, one of the heroes with the least aim requirements. All the recent clips I have seen of him playing dps, and it has been with mouse and keyboard.

Sure there are a few people who will use controller, but the population will be so small. Only reason controllers can come close to being as good as mouse and keyboard in shooters is due to aim assist, which they won’t have on pc so there is pretty much no point.

I have the wireless version, but the wired version is like half the price, so it’s an even easier recommendation. The Razer Wolverine v3 Pro is by far the best controller I’ve ever used.

Maybe get a new cable, or open up the xbone controller and see if you can redo the connections?

I don’t use controller. However i heard positive reviews from GameSir controllers. https://gamesir.com/collections/pc-controllers

Cool, thanks! I’ll check it out! :+1:

If nothing has piqued your interest yet, I will recommend Hori products.
They’re fairly reliable maybe not “top quality” but they haven’t let me down yet.

Nice! I’m remembering that one :white_check_mark:

Rickie, I was thinking of repairing my controller. Not sure how to replace the female micro-USB plug insert thou. Might have to consult YT for that

The victrix pro bfg controller is good from my experience. You can have it wired or wireless, tweak trigger sensitivity, back buttons, swap around configurations and joysticks etc.

Only con is no rumble/haptic feedback and maybe the price but that’s to be expected.

Otherwise x100bullets Razer suggestion is pretty good.

It’s a preference, but also, sometimes people with disabilities need to use a controller instead of M+K.

Understandable.

I find it annoying after a long session or a game that doesn’t implement rumble well.

Some type of games also just suck on keyboard.

Give me a controller or arcade pad for a fighting game any day of the week.

Steering wheels for racing games can be hit and miss depending on the mood.

Vr games or arcade shooters that use light guns.

The disability support controllers xbox and playstation have released are good for inclusiveness too.
