Only 3 missions, and one is probably the one showed in one of the Blizzcons.
That’s miserable. And more so because they are probably going to be behind the battlepass, and at most, even if we get them every season (which I doubt) that’s 3 missions every 9 weeks.
They really killed the PVE, what a joke.
I feel like that’s…fine? I was hoping it would be 3-5 missions a Season but 3 seems reasonable even if lower than what I ideally would have liked.
The main point of them is story/lore progression, I think it’s kind of nice to be getting it more spread out instead of all dumped at once and having the ending of the story spoiled by people immediately tbh
It’s gonna be like a show series where we all tune in every new episode to see what happens next (although ideally that would have been like 5 missions a season)
What I find weird is that these are going to be temporary events that disappear as the next part of the story rolls around the corner. So, what if you missed any story events and are a new player? Just… F you, I guess for not playing the previous story events.
Where was this said. I keep seeing people claim this all month but have yet to see a single official statement or source of this.
Not to mention the Roadmap says Season 7 brings the “Lore Codex” which sounds like a fancy way of saying a place where all past missions will be
I mean I would assume the old story missions would rotate in but the weakness of 4 player co op is that in 5 seasons you might have 15 missions and 4 difficulties so 60 queues which spreads everything a little thin.
It could be 30 missions and I honestly wouldn’t care if they didn’t have replay value
I think if they had them all in at once that would create a queue time issue. Maybe every week in the lore codex 3-4 are available and meanwhile you can also use the codex to view all available shorts/cutscenes/comics.

it’s just having to fill out one team of four people, not two teams
Maybe they will implement an AI system to fill gaps like how they had the Doomfist AI on your team in Starwatch

If you really think we gonna get 3 mission every 2 months, suddenly, after they only gave us 3 after 4 years of waiting, I have a bridge to sell to you <3
There was never going to be a grand reveal. Keller himself said they’re no longer considering waiting for bigger patches because he believes it’s affecting the community outlook on the game. So instead they’re opting for smaller, more incremental patches that players can chew on until something new comes along. Probably also an attempt to bundle the story missions with the battlepass for maximum profits…
3.5 years for 3 missions. Most definitely worth the wait. /s
yea im wondering about this myself. that other roadmap we had before that showed what will come up in later season (after season 6) said nothing about new story missions 
season 7 and beyond doesnt mention new story missions
Probably do it the same as they do with archives missions where they just put all missions out at the same time. Though that sounds like a queue nightmare.
I just hope it’s not once per year like archives was.

If their plan is to reveal new story missions with every new season then it would be impossible to overlap so many PvE events and have enough people to play them all

thats another concerning part… if all we are getting is 3 missions and thats it. if there isnt more later and within a year after… its so cringe
what in the world were they doing for 4 years and what happened to the work they showed us… thrown away? or they are not gonna use it? we have to wait and see but no communication sucks too
