Hello!
With the recent GTAV and Apex Legends implementing kernel level anti-cheats which basically exclude everyone on Linux, I wanted to ask for an update from Blizzard regarding Overwatch 2.
There is a site tracking this kind of stuff, there it says Linux is ok from Blizzard’s perspective, but that perspective is from 7 years ago.
Can we get an official update on this please?
This forum is supported by fellow players. They haven’t forbidden Linux at any point that I recall, but it’s not a supported OS and they wouldn’t make game changes to accommodate it.
Yeah, I hope that Ov2 will for on Linux for the future.
Meanwhile, recent update broke the game on Linux at least for me.
So, I guess I’ll need to wait until Proton or lutris fixes it.
Anyway, even on my Windows box I refused to install anything that loads something into my kernel, I consider this as malware.
