Reloading with heal blossom weapon active resets your heal blossom charge, but reloading with your thorn volley weapon active keeps your heal blossom charge. So I always:
- Swap to thorns
- Fire one thorn
- Reload
So now I have full ammo, and a fully charged heal blossom. And it still took less time than the ideal behavior:
- Reloading with heal blossom active
It’s an extra, unnecessary step though that reduces my healing availability in a snap.
Logically, if reloading restores the clips of BOTH weapons, then heal charge behavior should remain consistent between both weapons.

This is indeed irritating. Instead of fixing QoL things they just keep buffing numbers because they don’t play their own game.

I wouldn’t say that, I just think it’s one of those things that either went unnoticed because there are so few LW players, or was so minor they put it on the backburner indefinitely. But I play LW a lot, and it’s been like this for over a year now so I figured I’d say something on the off chance it gets noticed by someone who can make that change.
You’re right, thorns should reset it too
They can’t baby you along every step of the way, you’re gonna have to manage something at some point
Baby me every step of the way? What in the world? This is the only feedback I’ve had after 2 years of playing LW and loving it
tf outta here with that

You don’t really need to reload on him at all because he auto reloads. Just switch between damage and healing more
We’re talking the brief moments between encounters, not when it’s useful to be swapping between heals/damage. We’re talking getting fully charged and reloaded before another encounter.

I mean…I’d just spam thorns as free poke damage. It does more
They’ve made lots of changes to make playing him easier/more convenient, I’m just saying that at sone point you’re just gonna have to deal with having a weakness
How DARE they make their heroes play more convenient and responsive
Every hero needs to be more clunky to play and interact with

How dare reloading reset your charge, we should make Widow not lose her charge when she unscopes lol
I’m gonna reload between encounters. Nearly all of those down-moments between encounters, my team needs healed up to full before we engage again. There’s no use in swapping to thorns and firing at the wall with no enemies in view just for the sake of “never reloading”.

why would reloading reset your charge; it’s not intuitive and doesn’t make sense lol. That’s not a “babying” thing–you gave the time to charge your blossom. And I’m saying that as someone who always charges and swaps. I don’t even have the issue.

It resets anybody else’s anything else, why shouldn’t it reset Lifeweaver?
The only other comparable hero mechanic in this game is Illari’s charge, which isn’t reset (or even interrupted) by reloading. Iirc the damage charge up doesn’t reset on reload either—might just pause. I don’t really see what else you’re referring to… Widow’s scoped charge? Why wouldn’t that reset on reload when she has to scope out to do so? There’s no point in looking for consistency in minutiae like this anymore; blizzard can and will pick and choose. Queen’s allowed to shout during her axe channel now. Not every hero gets to stack abilities like that.
Big agree, this has always bothered me, too. It makes no sense that reload forces you to lose a charged blossom, but not if you’re in thorns.
Widow’s scope is the thing, and everybody’s general actions. Reloading is a cost you need to learn how to work around.
Use your ammo wisely or find better times to reload and you won’t be ruined by it so often.
Queen is a strange exception to be sure though
“Everybody’s general actions” isn’t comparable to having to charge your weapon or having it on a resource. It’s just not. And it’s already not consistent based on the needs of the individual hero.
I just don’t really get why you’re advocating for more clunk for a hero whose clunk is already complained about (and overblown imo). Dealing with clunk isn’t really an interesting way to express skill. Implementing clunk isn’t really an interesting way to impair a hero. Lifeweaver already has a pretty middling clip and charges his heals. He doesn’t need to also lose the investment he put into charging it. Swapping to thorns and retaining it is sufficient, I guess.
I’m not advocating for clunky design, I’m advocating for good design
A character being brain dead easy to play is not good design
