It was only the 2nd game in and I already had a LifeWeaver misjudge what I was doing on tank and pulled me out of my play thinking I was in trouble and screwed me. I know it’s early but man this mechanic seems very questionable. Hopefully it gets better when the community learns him and gets used to him. LifeWeavers being in game chat is going to be very important.
Yeah well I must’ve played with ten different lifeweavers tonight and not a single one was a troll, people are massively overreacting.
It’s not about being a troll, they probably honestly thought that they were helping. It’s that LWs are now the judge of what others are doing. It might help when people are feeding but there are times when LWs don’t understand the play you’re trying to make and then ruin it.
Have you actually even play the game? Ive only experienced a couple of bad pulls, theres been a decent number of unnecessary ones, but thats been going down over time most likely to people still learning him. Most all pulls have been beneficial to be and let be be more aggressive as a tank.
I remember one game we had a Reinhardt fighting 1v5 on point after the rest of our team wiped. I pulled him back to safety and you can probably guess what happens next. He charges back onto point.
Another game our Soldier charges in and gets to critical health. I pull him and get a life save, but he ults the same time. Naturally he sprints back to the point.
Both of the players died without getting any kills. They both thought I ruined their play, and they were both wrong. I have to wonder how many players there are like that.
LOL SAME. Get this, I was on Ram Full HP, Just popped ult whole enemy team were anti-naded and LW just yanks me back as I go in with Nano+Annihilation
This right here is the problem. It has nothing to do with the LW player’s intentions or whether or not he is intentionally trolling. The very act of pulling is an act of supreme narcissism, assuming his judgement of what someone else is doing is better than that person’s own and forcing his will onto his teammate.
Even a “good” pull is a bad pull.
Talking about overreacting…
I messed on up BAD. I had this Cassidy in mind because he was allegedly GM and I was just baffled at how that was even possible when I noticed my Cassidy critical through a wall trying to hard peak their spawn. I jumped into LoS quickly and kept mashing the ability, but… Once it activated I heard High Noon and realized it was our Echo.
That was pretty embarrassing that I forgot we did not have a Cassidy. I totally messed up their ultimate.
The good news is that they did not seem to be flipping out and throwing a hissy fit. I also redeemed myself and had one of my best life grips ever on the same player. I guess that all balances itself out cosmically, but I felt pretty bad about it.
It’s merely an accurate assessment of the thought process behind directly controlling and micromanaging others’ actions in any context. Game/simulation, politics, philosophy, everyday life; regardless of its context, it’s always the same.
Sure, Jan.
You must think that you can do no wrong, every lifeweaver ive seen, or who as posted in other forums, never says they know best. They say that they make mistakes, but are trying to be better. Its only people like you who complain and go on about how you know best and LW doesnt know, that all LW are arrogant because they “Know best”. Only LW hatters say that.
I think Lifeweaver players will soon learn that you rarely have any reason to pull the tank. You should only be pulling him out if he is very low health and taking so much damage he’ll soon die through his healing.
Why should I think that?
It’s not a question of whether someone makes the “right” or “wrong” play with his own avatar; it’s his play to make and not someone else’s.
The very act of exerting control over someone else is an implicit statement that the one doing so thinks he knows better. Otherwise there would be no point.
Your just being a hypocrite, along with other people making the same arguments, they always say that LW ability is by nature controlling and assertive and by your own words, “He knows better”. However you guys cant admit that this ability is mainly used as a saving tool because someone was in a situation that would result in death. Doesnt matter if it was thier mistake or if they were just unlucky. The situation is that they would have died so LW saved them. Yet with how you guys have been talking on these forums you guys are the one who want to be making all the calls and be controlling, because you know best and want the supports to support you becuase you cant do no wrong. But the moment a support saves your life your cry about it beacuse you didnt tell them to save you, they took action on their own to help and you cry. We play support, which is a roll where we tend to give up control and decision making, so we can enable the dps and tank. We follow you guys around keep you up, buff you, save you. However you cant accept that, you probably prefer that we just should sit quitly in the backline and follow your direction. You arnt the main character, you cant 1v5, you dont know best, no one knows best. However supports look out for the team, they want you guys to succeed but your to blinded by own grandure that you only care about your self. You talk about how if someone made a mistake then that is on them becuase its their play but its not, they made a mistake so the whole team suffers because of it. You only care about yourself not your team mates. You want to win, while supports want the team to win. So stop being selfish and work together as a team.
Are you under the impression this is a rare thing? You know tanks die in this game pretty regularly, right?
Thank you for saying this. I’ve been playing Niran and have been trying really hard to do good with my pulls knowing I could mess something up for someone, but seeing so much negativity about it, it’s soo nice to see someone stand up for Support mains, so thank you! 100% agree with every word of this!
Not really. We don’t let people kill people. Are you saying that is an act of supreme narcissism?
We put people in jail for breaking the law is that narcissism?
Pretty much every part of society controls the actions of others against their will; taxes, fees, laws etc etc. are they all acts of supreme narcissism.
I despise being pulled more than ANYONE on this forum. I guarantee you that. I have legitimate psychologically diagnosable reasons why I can’t tolerate it. But pretending that society and culture isn’t the very act of controlling the actions of others is extremely obtuse.
And it certainly isn’t narcissism to save someone. Especially when the life saved sound goes off.
I’m betting you don’t even know what that is though, do you?
It’s pretty nice when it saves your life though, isn’t it? People thank me for it. Sometimes you screw up and pull the wrong target though. It’s not a big deal unless it’s often. I had no complaints and received endorsements every game. Sometimes people screw up on Mei. Don’t want to block off members of your own team with enemy, but it happens by accident sometimes.
See most al LW pulls are made in good intentions, we are still making some mistakes because he still new and we are learning him. Theres just a small group of people who think that all LW are trolls and are controll freaks, when in reality we just pulled our rein from charging in on 1 hp
