I’m a Lifeweaver main and Life Grip is easily the BEST ability in the game. I’ve always played supports and this helps me save so many people and I’ve gotten a lot of thanks and won games. You can literally save people from ultimates, pull slow characters like Ana and Bastion back to the fight quicker and more. Life Grip is an AMAZING ability that has helped me win so many games. I am SO glad they added Lifeweaver because he is honestly an AMAZING support that really helps the team and saves people so much more than someone like Baptiste struggling to hit someone with heals for example, in my experience. Plus, with his mobility, I also quickly hunt down Widowmakers and kill them. Lifeweaver is frickin AMAZING!
I legitimately DO NOT understand why people think he is the “worst”. Maybe people just don’t understand how to play him and are just used to rushing into fights and insta dying, but those people can thank me later when I pull them away when they’re at 5 HP and I heal them and literally save their life lol.
I don’t understand why people say to get rid of Life Grip when it’s SO good and literally a life saver. I don’t understand the people saying to get rid of it and I doubt the devs ever will with how good it is, but if they do, I’m quitting because Lifeweaver is an AMAZING support. I love playing support and helping people and I used to play Mercy but Lifeweaver is amazing too when you know how to use him!
No. Its a bad character and you defending him wont magically make it better. In fact youre hurting your chances of being improved by coming to its defense.
People always complain about the grip, but I think its one of the easiest abilities to use right.
when someone is suck in a ult or trap → use it
when someone is antied or is sleeping in the middle of the enemy team → use it
when someone is slow and tries to come back to a fight → use it
when a DPS is on low ground, but you are up on high ground/petal → use it
when someone is thrown over the edge → use it
when someone is in the middle of LoS of an enemy ult and you are not → use it
Its not hard, but I understand that mostly low rank players want to use the thing all the time. In general I got a lot of compliments when I play with grip that way. People just need to get used to it and how to play with it.
Sure, I guess. He can be good once every 20 seconds or so. So like once per team fight.
The rest of Liveweaver is pretty garbage, though.
Because even the most high-skilled Overwatch players can’t make him work. He is the worst support out of all supports. Picking any other support you can play at a similar level will provide more value for less effort.
Because people generally don’t like having their agency taken away. If it’s an enemy who does it, fine, it’s an enemy after all, but not your team.
Because his healing is average. Its actually worse than mercys in alot of cases because overall they heal about as much but he is not as consistent. Add to it that if he is healing alot he will basically barely do damage himself. His mobility is very predictable. Lifegrip is the only ability that i play him for but is it rwally worth it? Nope. Case in point your 5hp guy wont need to be lifegripped out of the fight if you play ana, moira or bap instead and fill that hp up fast. Not even mentioni g other support cds that can save them while still keeping them in fight. The whole concept pf lifegripping halfdead allies away from fivjt is stupid.
We can choose to live in a world of opinions or facts…
in your opinion he’s good….
objectively he’s the worst healer in game and it’s clearly reflected by his lack of usage and the 300 buffs he’s already received (and will continue to receive because they don’t fix the issue)
For example, a fully charged blossom can have the added effect of automatically selecting 1-2 other targets within a certain range of the target lifeweaver selected then bouncing to them, prioritizing lower health heroes. It can be a fully automated action.
Lifeweaver sends a blossom to Roadhog. Roadhog receives the blossom healing. Lucio is within 10 yards of Roadhog, so a blossom then travels to him. Maybe it does less healing on the bounce. It could smooth out Lifeweaver’s middling group sustain in a fight.
