Can we just have DMG be LMB and Heals be RMB? Like Moira because weapon swapping feels awful mid combat even as Mercy, can’t imagine playing the new support until this gets fixed because it feels like a Tonka truck with no wheels when swapping.
It’s been so long since I’ve played OW on my PS4 that I don’t recall if I can remap the buttons.
I take it you can’t if I’m seeing numerous posts pop up. In which case I get console players being upset. It makes no sense to me that PC players are complaining about keys when you can set it to whatever you’d like anyway.
Mercy is a special case because she rarely put out her pistol when dived because she can just GA away to nearby teammates. Waever in the other hand, since his healing is so goddarn low and slow, he try to make up with doing dmg (which pretty decent) and switching back and forth mid fight is just so horrible. Feels so clunky and out of place.
I absolutely agree, I know there’s a lot of other abilities to bind, but this is a given to me. Weapon switching isn’t too bad if you rebind some controls, but it would be so much more fluid to just have left and right click for dmg and heals.
You can. I do it all the time.
Also, switching your weapon with LW is so fast I actually think it’s fun.
His heal still sucks though.
Just flip the mouse wheel, why is that so hard?
LW is overkitted to the point this isn’t really feasible. Baptiste and Ball get around it by using Ctrl, but that’s not really reasonable with any of Lifeweavers abilities.
Honestly probably should have just never added the Dash ability but gave him more HP, and this could have been avoided.
Double tap a direction, or double space for dash, Hanzo already has the solution there. It didn’t need a keybind.
I think they did it because they wanted auto reload when the weapon isn’t selected, like all other weapon swapping heroes.
Played a bit now on console. Most unintuitive character to date. Feels really clunky. I really hope they remove the weapon switch mechanic, it just feels wrong on a character like this. Obviously I’m sure it’ll get easier with practice but out of the gate this character feels very underwhelming and awkward to me. Hope it’s just growing pains but yeah, not too impressed.
There’s a delay when weapon swapping, on top of which you want to be weaving(heh) heals and damage together since neither of them are particularly strong with Lifeweaver. While the delay on the other heroes who need to weapon swap (Torb and Mercy) don’t feel particularly good, their secondary weapon is an entirely secondary feature on both of them where you’re either pulling it out for emergency uses or dedicating time to repair your turret. In either case it’s your entire focus when using that weapon and you don’t do it that often. With Lifeweaver you need to have both up and switching between them as often as possible to be doing anything worth mentioning.
So why the hell are players complaining about button mapping? I remap every hero in the game.
I can understand someone saying he feels clunky, if that’s how they feel about him. Button mapping is a non issue, unless they just feel like he doesn’t have enough buttons dedicated to him.
Weapon swapping on console is brutal since there’s nowhere good to bind it - it’s always been awkward with Torb and Mercy, but you don’t have to constantly switch so you get used to it and the impact is minimal. On PS4 with the back button peripheral or with a PS5 Dualsense Edge it wouldn’t be nearly as bad, but it was still a terrible idea.
This may feel clunky on PC but it’s 10x worse on console to the point of being nearly unplayable.
Yep. Playing him on console is the hardest adjustment I’ve had yet, despite trying to remap buttons a little. Like others have suggested, he could have just had LT and RT heal and damage and binded his dash to a double tap like hanzo… Imo l these changes would make him instantly better and more playable.
