Lifeweaver controller binding

Has anyone found a comfortable way of setting up Lifeweaver’s abilities on controller?

He’s uncomfortable on mouse and keyboard as well, but I suspect that’s more of a kit and design issue than anything else.

Ya i’ve tried him on PC and my mouse’s scroll wheel is messed up so it keeps auto switching between his healing and weapons randomly (Unless that’s a setting to autoswap). So there is that way to swap on PC but even then it’s just what do I even rebind if I could.

I think people who find him uncomfortable are switching weapons too often. He’s meant to be a healbot most of the time. It’s not wrong to be contributing damage now and then, but only if you are confident that nobody will need healing for a bit.

The devs went to some lengths to enforce this if you think about it. His heal has a charge time, his attack requires a weapon swap, and he’s quite unsafe at short-to-mid ranges. All of this is meant to create a long range healbot playstyle.

The fact that his healing roughly keeps pace with Zenyatta’s is probably the reason a ton of people feel obligated to throw needles everywhere.

Its more so I don’t like having to take my thumb off the stick to swap weapons when I need it to move.

That’s simply false, his healing is pretty good in practice. But only if you pre-charge it for the initial 65hp burst. If you are always swapping weapons, you’re going to be doing a bad job at both.

Of course. The rather tragic spread and travel time don’t help it. Really best off as a heal bot if you need to play him, but either way, his healing really doesn’t compete with anyone else’s rates.

I think I’ve been top healing by a wide margin in every single game I’ve played him. There’s a reason the devs classify him as a main healer. You can’t easily measure his healing per second because a lot of it happens in an instant burst the moment someone takes damages, and he has it charged again by the time they take more damage.

What system do you play on?

I’m more concerned with the super gradual 65HP bursts of health he dishes out in contrast with Ana pumping out, what, 75 a round? Two or three shots fired per lifeweaver’s single burst?

PS5 but I also play on Xbox just depends.

Ana is better at healing major damage on the tank, yes. She has the highest single target healing in the game. But that’s not as important a metric as you think it is. LW’s healing is sufficient to qualify as a main healer in practice, given that his job is to focus on healing full time.

Try these controls for now, this is what I have been running until the devs fix/update his controls settings.

The life grip and Healing special setting for Life Weaver sensitivity should be at 100 to allow you to heal effectively.

Life grip L2
Petel platform L1
Dash r1
Weapon swap square/reload
Interact right on d pad.
Hero swap L3

Yeah I’ve actually gotten pretty comfortable with him:
I’ve bound the left trigger for swapping weapons and set the right D-pad for throwing his little jump pad. It makes the transition between heals and damage pretty seamless. Imo you need to swap damage and healing much more than you need to place a pad.

Don’t know why more people don’t put weapon swap on reload is it just not known?
