Life-gripping people off objectives

is Life-Gripping someone from a payload/point, causing a loss…griefing or not?

We just call that a whoopsie

Same litmus test as walling off a point from allies or meteorstriking in overtime.

last night it happened to me multiple times. I finally had to go in and avoid someone as a teammate because it happened 3 times in a row.

In another match I was getting life-gripped while Ulting (every time) by a LW while I was playing Pharah.

at what point is this considered griefing or is there going to be some fancy “gotcha” that I missed indicating this behavior is acceptable?

I mean, personally, I’d avoid definitely if it annoyed me to a certain point. I’d maybe watch the replay from their POV to see what they were seeing.

What’s the point of these questions?

Do you think person A is throwing? Yes or no. Report accordingly. Given how out of control reporting is whether its for gg in a match you got stomped or whatever, it’s all irrelevant. No one’s reviewing reports, no one’s deciding right or wrong, it’s just a weaponized mess.

I assume it is a mistake unless they make their intent relatively obvious. That being said, if you lose to someone accidentally pulling you off point in OT, you were not likely to win regardless.

People magically forget the logic when it’s lifegrip.

YOU get a ban! And YOU get a ban! You ALL get bans!!!

Seems to be Blizzard’s policy. Thank goodness we’re safe from swearing though!

the point is to find out if the community thinks this is acceptable or not? I dont, but I Often find that what I consider acceptable or not isn’t always in line with what others think.

I did report that player for gameplay sabotage but with the 200 “gotchas” in the list; I am geniunely curious if someone will make an argument for why it’s not.

And I don’t see the point there either. The “community” seems to think gg is reportable. The “community” has gone off the deep end. Blizzard supports it with an awful system.

:person_shrugging:

Is someone making a bad play worth getting their account banned ultimately? It really shouldn’t be but that’s gaming in 2024 apparently.

Same, brother. I play Lifeweaver a lot, my second most played after Ball, and I’ve made bad pulls but at the time I felt I needed to make that pull. I felt somebody was gonna die, there was danger, hell I’ve pulled a Rein because I had somebody trying to kill me and I needed assistance because the other healer was already dead. Some pulls just turn out to be badly timed, since once I did pull a Reaper right as they pressed Q on accident.

Oopsies happen.
Sometimes they matter and sometimes they dont.

I find most of the oopsies already happened at hero select and the rest is moot. :joy:

the Mei one really angered me because he pulled me off the point while i was frozen and still had 4 seconds left on it …the rest of the team was very close to the point.

You cannot grip a Mei in ice block. In fact, I’m pretty sure ice block cancels grip.

yah you can…it’s happened more than once. coudl be that the grip keeps comign right before i do it…nto sure…but it’s def. happened

Sticky situation that highlights the difficulty of using it properly.

You cannot life grip a mei who is in cryofreeze. You have a latency issue if that is happening to you. It is visible at 6:35 in this video; the grip targeting reticle does not appear on mei until she breaks out of cryo.
