Oh yeah im actually sure the show is good, the fandom just scares me so much and I tend to get into fandom content if I pick anything up, plus cartoons/anime are a sweet spot for me so I don’t wanna get to involved and have to deal with another toxic fandom, lol.
Maybe ill take a look at int a few years when the fandom dies down a bit. 
And of course if you like it that’s fine! more power to you!! 
I kinda just want more for D.va.
I want more regular updates for a lot of characters. im not the biggest dva fan but I do want to know more lore.

Which is why I think they should just stick to the Story Plot and not add distractions like a persons sexuality. (for this game in particular, not all games) This is a game about war and conflict, so invest in making a rich story about war that is played out in the game. This includes all details not relevant to the story, not just sexuality btw.

Funny because it depends on what kinda people were upset - I know a lot of homophobic ppl who had her as their waifus (which if they were smart would realize they could still have her as their waifus since shes only fictional.) were complaining bc she was gay and not into men like them. (also not trying to attack men here but it’s the most common group that has issues with tracer being gay. I am a believer in “not all” statements.)
Being upset because her comic was banned in your country isn’t really due to her orientation, that’s due to your countries laws, of which I’m sorry to hear about and it’s a shame they ban comics and such just for harmless stuff like that. Sadly its gonna take a bit more effort and work from everyone before we can start changing other parts of the world, and get thing like the reflections comic unbanned.
It’s a slow process but the world is taking a step forward.

it’s really too many characters to do that without leaving things out. personally, if they did things more like a mainstream comic company in the sense that each character got their own individual updates often enough to be scheduled, then everyone could be happy.
or other characters from D.va’s backstory like other gamers in mechs that help her out. isnt she supposed to be the most popular out of a team of online gamers taking that thing on?
I’m sure that whenever the team gets around to it they’ll do a good job, but D.Va is a hard sell for me. While I’ve been involved in online gaming since online gaming came into being, I loathe gamer culture – the very thing that D.Va represents.
If she gets a short it will no doubt be great, because all of the shorts have been great. Still, a theoretical D.Va short is starting in a personal deficit that the other heroes didn’t.

I am not whining, but thanks. It was just en example of proof that when you try to please a certain part of people you also always upset other part of people with different mindset.
That is why I think that being neutral in these themes is the most optimal way to do business. Try to please all together, or don’t try to please at all. When you please someone more than others you also separate them, even if you did not wanted to do so.
I mean, equality is a good thing. But in fight for equality people usually use methods that ruin equality by itself. Ironically.

I don’t mean any offence by this but I do find there are two distinct types of people - Irrational loud minorities, and then rational normal reasonable lgbt ppl. I’d classify us all under the latter of course.
Some people just cannot have a debate or have patience to discuss or educate, and something I’ve sadly noticed too due to the loud minority is a strong hatred and aggression towards straight people that seems to literally mirror the oppression homophobic people do the lgbt people. By that I mean I have interacted with lgbt ppl who are just mean and won’t even consider the fact straight allies are a thing. Those are the type of people who get easily triggered and you can’t have a conversation or debate with.
However people like us, the latter, are able to be chatted with rationally, and discussed with, even if you don’t agree or never agree, I feel its still nice to be able to talk and discuss and at least attempt to educate someone on subjects instead of just resorting to insults and screaming and disregarding someone because their not worthy of your time or something.
That’s what I like about this conversation we have going on in this thread - people are taking the time to talk and calmly discuss viewpoints and opinions, and everyone is respecting each other and being kind - for the most part. That is what their doing though? As I said Tracer was done naturally, and I expect any more LGBT characters to be handled the same. You will see their normal lives and them being normal in the lore and stories, and then you’ll see something that’s done how it should - in Reflections it was tracer coming home to her partner - which just happened to be a girl, and it was completely normal for her. then the stories continues on to spending christmas with winston - its almost glossed over but not in an offensive way - because they don’t focus on the sexuality.
In the future if we get more LGBT character’s you’re gonna see similar things, like someone coming home from a battle and kissing their love on the cheek, then continuing on with whatever conversations they may have with family. Perhaps characters holding hands while talking about something serious which is relating to the plot, etc. Natrual occurrences that we wouldn’t bat an eye at if it were straight, and all stuff like this does is people do notice it, but its natrual, and it just confirms “yes x character is lgbt” and then moves on with the plot, nothing changes, characters are still the same, etc.
Honestly I think Blizzard handled Tracer very well because of those reasons, and I’m excited to see how they will hint at or introduce other LGBT representation in the same ways. Just sprinkled as bonus content on already cool, awesome and intriguing stories.
