LGBT please let us talk

LOL I get ya 100% but im also referring to two recent controversies. one of the mchanzo blog owners stole money to buy voltron merch instead of using it to promote the blog/ship/lgbt youth, and the infamous voltron ship blackmaile…

I mean in general but I get your post.

true, good point…we arent the triggered types but we have seen a few people disagree in that sense…

… I’m not sure what you just said but me x shiro I mean Keith x shiro is safe it sounds like.

lol, dear god consider yourself lucky…i was there for the mchanzo blog thing, and the voltron thing is just…fandom gone rotten

The fact nothing changed about tracer when it was confirmed she was gay, is what makes it so good and natural what happened with Tracer. It was handled really well, and good representation like this does exactly that - it doesn’t define their character, but think of gay being a little side bonus and representation for the minority to enjoy.

agreed. nobody is calling for changes in character personalities.

It’s still political given the society politics right now. It’s a “hot topic” so it’s best not to discuss it.

I was interested in getting in on this new Dreamworks show when it came out. I made a post about it. MULTIPLE PEOPLE TOLD ME NOT TO WATCH IT AND JOIN THE FANDOM. I took that as a sign and to this day know nothing about Voltron lol

If a thread attracts too many non-constructive [to put it nicely] posters, it quickly becomes impossible to salvage the thread due to everyone replying and quoting each other and therefore the thread gets locked/deleted instead of moderating individual comments.

both instances are mentioned here, and it is actually relevant to this topic as he goes into the overwatch fandom for a point. had to add a space in the link. shouldnt be hard to find.

Actually, one of the common complaints that I hear from the lgbt community was that they didn’t like it and asked for a bunch of clarifications. That it wasn’t enough.

It’s soooooo good. Like I love it but I also have a crush on shiro so I may be blinded.

Sorry I’m off topic cough McChanzo. Cough

Well I mean, if that’s the case, Blizzard is encouraging political debate making their characters political and all that. Just sayin…

Like I get we don’t need back and forth debates and woe is mes and expressing the abuse and issues the minority/lgbt experience on these game forms, but when your lead mascot is canonically gay, you kinda are allowed to talk about LGBT in regards to the game and its characters. Perhaps Overwatch itself is a political statement in this kinda light?

On the other hand, the way that you make it not be a ‘hot topic’ is to depict it as routine like they did with Tracer.

I mean LGBT isn’t a hive mind I also heard that initially but haven’t heard that as much lately.

Nothing changed about Tracer as a character, yes. But when her orientation was revealed a lot of people was kinda upset, for some reason. Personally, I was upset because of her orientation the whole Reflections comic was banned in my country and my anthology book does not include it(

Well, you’ll always get the loud minority, that would be them. Like how you get the loud majority, IE what makes most LGBT hate straight ppl, completely blocking out straight allies and such, and here you have a similar instance, too many loud complaints from the LGBT blocking out those who actually liked it and were okay with it. It’s a two way street, or at least it seems that way to me.

Also impossible to make everyone happy, you’re always gonna have some sort of loud group complaining and trying to go against anything a company does.
