Lfg removed … why

So lfg was removed ….why tho, was generally such a good tool for many who wanted communication and truly just to find friends and be social.

Seeing a few players saying it wasn’t popular and that’s the reason why it was removed, the game was was already about dead with no one playing so of course it felt that way, and even then you still had groups for comp etc to join.

New players coming in for ow 2 could have used it to match together and get to know the community while players who left in the past could return also and match up.

If the main reason for the removal was because of toxicity then what was the point of the whole defence Matrix system being implemented, let the damn thing do it’s job and give the player the option to report a group if they feel they need to for whatever reason, not remove the whole damn thing so players can’t do it full stop

Dumbass take blizzard I swear to god

It’s was mostly abused to sell accounts, sell carries, and advertise smurf groups to throw matches and derank.

since mostly means mostly, that’s absolute fiction. it was an essential and instrumental feature used mostly AS INTENDED. “occasionally”, what you described, would surface, but such was far from predominant. otherwise, LFG, would’ve likely been deactivated long ago, if it was truly “mostly”. which it was not at all. the activity which you described was so insignificant that many advertisers would often sit in lobbies for hours on end, alone. occasional insignificant business, that may popup was likely minuscule, and shouldn’t constitute a useful feature that was mostly used as intended, to be deactivated. i’d bet no one on this forum knows a dozen ppl who has joined any of the lobbies you’ve described which thereby invalidates its deactivation. all that was mostly happening, imo, were advertisers sitting in empty lobbies for the most part. as far as carrying, if we’re talking a noteworthy winstreak, 10 game minimum or thereabouts, then a carry can’t really be sold, but only speculated. bc ow queue determines competitive quality. therefore deactivating, LFG, was an over reaction.

I used it a lot back in the day, iand I hope they bring it back soon, its going to make this game trash if there is no LFG feature as ANY team based game needs that sort of feature.

Everytime I looked at it I would report at least half the people on page 1 for what I listed.

ok. maybe your region is different. LFG on NA servers were fine. occasional adverts. some days, a few more or less, but nothing justifying LFG deactivation.

This was NA…

It was literally an advertisement system.

then maybe you’re on westcoast servers. eastcoast LFG, was quite clean to be honest. nothing quite like what you’re described. that’s why what you’re saying is quite shocking. or a bit exaggeratory.

I used LFG everyday, and at times all day. I never experienced this.

I agree. Now I get stuck w/ randoms who have no clue how to play their role, and I have to pray that they’ll be in voice chat so i can give callouts to get the dub.

Overwatch 2 has been a nightmare from day 1.

i thought they removed it because they were adding a guild system…probably soon™ like the pve missions

Just one of THIRTY FIVE different things removed in OW2 for no discernible reason :man_shrugging:

Every single time I looked at it, page 1 was about half selling accounts and/or looking for people to throw and derank. I made it a habit to report them when I was in queues.

Imagine a viewpoint other than your own?

Nah we’re all just NPC’s and our MC happened to be someone who’d name themselves “Krojack-1117” to ape off the MC of a franchise made from someone else’s viewpoint.

On topic, LFG was a godsend compared to the gaggle of dumb mutes we keep getting stuck with now.

fiction declined. it was removed so that ppl are less social.
and so that ppl use their mics less. and it’s clearly working.

What are you talking about? What does my account name have anything to do with this topic?

Ripping off Halo telling people to be original/better when you cant even come up with an original name/scheme

What? I still literally have no clue what you’re talking about. I’ve never even owned or played Halo to start. I’ve used this name for well over 25 years. I started in the BBS days.

Also when you have no argument to stand on is when you start to attack the person for petty reasons.

This. We also lost general chat, cards, borders, enemy endorsements, etc.
The list goes on. We lost most of the social features that made the game a shared experience, less alienating, less depersonalizing.

The excuse for the delete? “It WaS ToXiC”,.
They really axed it for two other reasons:

  • Unfinished/unpolished.
  • Forces you to the in-game shop out of sheer boredom and ‘nothing else to do’

on the bright side, obliterating the social fabric of OW backfired.
as evident by the massive on going exodus.
