Low level players are unknown factor, could be new players or smurs so its hard to tell.

That’s some bad luck for sure. Usually game balance is bad when just a few are unranked but you hit the (unlucky) jackpot.
Well, that is due to the issue of smurfs, right?
That the assumption that skill and level are somewhat mutually exclusive.
That said, i have been wrekt-ed by plenty of players lower than 100 (i am naturally bad at the game, to be sure so it may not account for much).
So, i suppose that until it takes a lot more to create a new account so as to deter new accounts being made by experienced and good players, such a phenomenon which occurred in your case will continue.

I hit gm when i was lvl 40 in this account.
Level does not equal skill at all.
Smurfing is an exception to the rule and people on smurf accounts can and do still throw games so they can do ‘low rank to gm’ or ego stroking by fighting low ranks.
