When talking about Briggite (I have spelled her name at least 100 different ways lol) people who defend her like to use the phrase “wait and see” to others who want her nerfed. I get that you like the hero, hell I like her too, but enough time has passed.
She had an entire stint in the ptr, and 6 week on the live servers in quickplay. There is still a sizeable chunk of the community claiming she needs tuning. Now no one wants her in F-tier, including me. I love her hybrid concept! I want her to be useful…but I also want that for Reinhardt, soldier, and yes even those flankers we all know get under our skin lol.
Enough time has passed. We know what her impact is, and its oppressive.
People have been asking to see her in competitive.
“Wait until she’s in competitive” does not mean “Wait until the moment season 10 starts.”
How is this a confusing sentiment? People want to see how she performs in competitive. They did not care how she performed in quickplay. A single day of data is as useless as the months of people shrieking about her.
The 6 weeks of her time in quickplay showed enough. Winrates…yeah those stats are as good as garbage in quickplay. But player experience is still valuable information. What were those 6 weeks for then if we aren’t gonna listen to the feedback?
Really hope this artificial meta doesn’t end up dragging on for as long as the mercy disaster. Really sick of having to deal with yet another broken hero.
Most people don’t know her impact in competitive, where coordination is higher. (Reasonable) people are asking for a week or two - NOT 6 months like Mercy, and not 48 hours after being in comp.
With 7+ days, there is more evidence of trends and there’s more data to base it off of. With that, at least more people would see that there’s statistical reasoning to feel she’s overbearing.
I imagine her pickrate won’t drop. Her winrate is, but her pickrate’s going up.
People said “She’s going to ruin Overwatch” within 24 hours of her release. Player experience is INCREDIBLY biased and should be taken with a grain of salt if taken alone. Mix it in with some actual statistics and hard numbers, and it’ll be much more valid.
No it wasn’t. Quickplay statistics are absolutely useless to balance a team based game. Adjusting her to make it so she’s “Fair” in 1v1 scenarios because nobody is coordinated enough to work together would just decimate her viability in an actual team-based setting.
I agree. I wish I knew why Blizzard made this horrendous decision.
FWIW: Listening to feedback hasn’t really been one of their strong suits over the years in any Blizzard title. It happens occasionally, but it’s far from consistent.
But I think we should have some statistical reasoning to back it up. I feel like that’s a much easier pill for Brigitte players and people who are skeptical about her to swallow.
Nerf what? Hard to figure out what to nerf and how if you don’t have enough data on her being played by the masses in a competitive environment. Giving her time in comp is not just to see if she is op or not.
