Let's talk about that new Zarya Skin

Now, I’m going to preface this by saying:

Sadly, I dislike almost all of her skins. I wish I didn’t, but thats the truth

With that being said… I really like this one. For an Epic, I think it’s great. It keep the same general Zarya look, yet gives it a little flare, but doesn’t go crazy with it (unlike some of her other skins).

As far as any Epic skin for any character goes, I would give this new Zarya skin a solid 6/10, in comparison. Its not my favorite Epic skin of all time, it’s not my least favorite.

But, if we’re talking just Zarya skins, it’s easily an 8/10 for me, maybe more. One of her best, in my opinion.

For a Zarya skin!? I really love it! It’s one I think I’d use if I played Zarya.

For an archives skin? It sucks! Was she a racer or a deadlifter? Are they retconning well known bits of lore now?!?

Pixie! You’ll be pleased to know the epics dont have anything to do with archives, they’re actually tied to the map itself. Probably a nod to the map we’ll be getting after Storm (please be hybrid)

It’s not bad honestly. The colors are pretty nice and the dual tone to her hair is neat. It’s just very much like almost all of her skins: understated. Her stuff is never very flashy,.

Yeah, that part does bother me. Like, Junkrat’s. I like the skin, but I’m struggling to understand the Lore connection.

Most skins are not canon. That’s like asking if they retconned Zenyatta to be a cultist of unspeakable horrors. This being a lore event means nothing for the skins of heroes that don’t feature in said event.

So that means Junkrat was the comedy of the night, Hammond was a guest and Zarya was there on vacation or something?

Either way, color me relieved.

No…no they’re not lore related at all

They’re just there to hype the map were getting after storm
They’re not related to the past or archives at all
They’re just…there as a nod to monaco , which is probably the map we’re getting next month
Themed for things famous in the location itself
