Well let us be real for a second, when half the cast, all being in the most liked class, are completely irrelevant, there is a problem. Of course popularity of the game is going down, because a lot of DPS mains don’t get to play their favorite heroes. Players and streamers are being pushed into a meta that many don’t want to play any of the heroes.
And yet, I still see people requesting NERFS to the most useless class. I don’t disagree that there might be some overtuned DPS heroes, but it’s far from the real issue
There is a real issue here, huge sustain. Comps are now able to be nigh immortal thanks to massive amounts of healing and armor. Giant healthpools and shield added to that will be near impossible for any DPS to do anything worth a damn. The game is no longer about who gets to kill, but who outlives.
I’m sorry, but the supports and tanks have used the minority card for so long. We love you guys, and we appreciate you, but let us have our jobs back. We need to be able to kill things to be relevant, and we can’t do that if every DPS shoots sponge balls.
it’s not even the tankiness of the comp it’s the fact that there are tanks and supports that can FILL dps roles. Zen, Brig, D.va, Zarya can literally perform on dps levels while providing healing and tankiness. I think that’s the biggest issue.
You guys are acting as if GOATS is an “I win”-button but it is NOT. In lower diamond I don’t see GOATS that often and even if I do, there is no guarantee it works.
The game needs differenet metas to adapt to different situations. If you nerf all the possible metas, then what is left?
The problems with GOATS comp is that individually a lot of the heroes aren’t really OP. The only one close to being that is D.va and that’s only at pro play.
We have a couple options to nerf GOATS.
Nerf the stacking of AOE healing by making it’s effect reduced.
Buff Junk,Reaper,Sym,Bastion who are at the bottom but would do quite well vs GOATS due to the nature of their kits.
Nerf tank damage
These all have underlying issues though of making supports/tanks unfun to play and potentially making the 4 mentioned into OP beasts if they aren’t balanced correctly.
No, it isn’t. That’s a fundamental design decision that has been consistent since release. Offtanks are all very low range heroes, and only one has mobility. They are supposed to be menacing at close range, while dps heroes are usually more focused on range, and more bound to the space created by these very tanks.
GOATs is a combination of synergies that makes it so powerful, and removes the weaknesses of the individual heroes. It has nothing to do with tank damage.
you either have to nerf goats, which apparently isnt being played on the ladder, or nerf the OP heroes which Rein, Ana and Moira make up 30% of all hero picks across all tiers right now.
i don’t understand your point, lucio is very much meta at the moment… Also at the moment some tanks are just better dps with larger healthpools and better utility to mitigate the dmg received negating the fact that they have larger hitboxes…
