Let's make Valkyrie into an E ability

Valkyrie is too similar to Mercy’s base gameplay to ever actually feel like an ultimate to me.

Valkyrie might be much more enjoyable as an E ability, provided that it’s reworked both for the sake of balance and fitting into the playstyle/methods of skill expression defined by Mercy’s base gameplay of single target beams and guardian angel.

Here’s a version of E-Valk, just for fun:

Valkyrie, the E ability

Duration: 5 seconds
Cooldown: 12 seconds
(CD starts after ability ends)

Valkyrie becomes a channeled ability that enemies can cancel with stuns.

What it keeps from the ult version:

  • Flight
  • Extended beam range
  • uninterrupted health regen

What it doesn’t keep:

  • Infinite ammo
  • Chain beams
  • Extended Guardian Angel range
  • Beams being interrupted by Valkyrie’s activation

What is added:

Healing beam:

  • Healing in Valkyrie increased to 70

Damage boost:

  • Beam target’s reload speed increased by 50%

And just because I can, I’m making a “burst ability” for Mercy’s staff reload button:

Adrenaline Pulse, the “staff reload” ability

  • Cooldown: 6 seconds
  • Only usable when Mercy’s beam is attached to an ally

The effects of Adrenaline Pulse somewhat depend on which beam Mercy is using at the time.

When activated with healing beam:

  • 80hp burst heal on beam target
  • Clears status effects

(Adrenaline Pulse temporarily replaces Mercy’s beam heal value)

When activated with damage boost:

  • Insta-reloads the beam target’s clip
  • Clears status effects

I know that this looks like a lot of healing, but keep in mind:

This is something I made for fun.

Edit: I’m disappointed that most of the replies so far are obsessing over Mercy’s rez instead of the actual thread topic.

I like this idea. It’s creative.

Can they please add this to her current ult?

I hope that ability makes it into the game one day but with Echo and not Mercy.

Probs shouldn’t have two mobility, abilities.

Also this seems like a major net buff to a hero that’s statistically fine.

it’s really, really sad at this point. do these people not have lives beyond these forums? I pop in now and again every few weeks or months for updates, events, and whatnot, and these people are just so fundamentally pathetic that they’ve turned Rezposting into their entire lives, they post this stuff every day.

It’s mostly Silawatsi. You tend to learn who fanboys for certain heroes if you look around the forums. Especially when 90% of their topics are about the same hero. Also…nice username (p_-)

How about keep her as it is but give a new ability instead.

Give an ability that allows her to fly, or have chain healing, or have a healing boost since mercy’s healing gets outdamaged.

You can’t talk about moving an ult to CD then expect people wont talk about what ult will be.

This thread was made to discuss the idea of Valkyrie as an E ability. It’s pretty disappointing to see so many people who don’t want to talk about the thread topic.

If you want to talk about what you think Mercy’s ult should be, make a thread for it instead of derailing this one.
