Let's get one thing straight

If an opponent swaps hero to counter you ( or your team ) that is NOT a skill issue and does not warrant that person having insults hurled at them.

If you do not notice you’re playing a subpar hero or are stubburn enough to refuse to swap that IS a skill issue.

Overwatch has always been from the ground up a game about countering the other teams comp.

If you’re gonna come to the forums and complain that “x” player swapped to zarya to counter your dva or “y” player swapped to soldier or widow to try take out your pharah then frankly you clearly don’t understand how overwatch actually works.

I get that your favourite hero might be genji ( Example ) but if the opponent is running heroes like winston or sombra then you’re gonna have a really bad time and it’s on you to know it’s a bad decision and swap.

It is not about skill. I am sure that beta who hot swapped off their Reinhardt counter onto Orisa or Rammatra because they were struggling is way more skilled than me. Whatever, bro. Nobody cares. They is lame. It is what it is.

The only people who deny it are the rock, paper, scissors mains. Nobody is telling you not to do it. But nobody respects you outside of your garbagio teammates who needed the carry. If that is what you dreamt about when you booted up Overwatch, good for you. I am going to have fun with the hero I want to play, however. Cry me the Nile, or do not. It ain’t any of my business.

oh?

If they see they’re beat in the face off and have the brain capacity to swap to something better then … yeah. They must be better than you.

"The people who play the game the way it’s intended "

I can’t control what heroes my teammates play. But I can still ask and / or make better decisions myself to try give my team the best chance of success.

Isn’t any loss to me how big your loss streaks get due to your own arrogance

Yep. It would be hard not to be better; however, stranger things have certainly happened.

The game was not intended to be some Pokemon knock off. There is a difference between switching based on the situation and actively refusing to participate unless you are playing a hard counter.

Exactly. Pressure their tank so I can play the game. Please and thank you.

I do not care. I am not even losing very often despite how often I play against 3-5 hard counters. And wanting to play the only hero I still care about is not arrogance.

It isn’t what it is. You are childish. You are playing a game where the goal is to win. Part of that is swapping. It’s in the design of the game. If you don’t swap that’s fine, but people that do swap are playing the game correctly. I don’t often swap and it loses the game but I don’t complain that swapping is a problem.

What is a problem is that hard counters exist. Not only that, but that hard counters against tanks exist in the support role (in higher ranks they become soft counters but in low ranks Ana is a hard counter to too many tanks). That is just silly and a support should not be able to force you to swap in the tank role. But that’s where we are now.

I never said I was not childish.

That is not my goal.

I do not necessarily even have anything against swapping. It is just corny as hell that Doomfist or Hog players, characters that ALREADY counter Reinhardt, feel compelled to swap to an even harder counter just for an easier win. No offense intended, but those players are so bad that playing for a win is going to be a painful endeavor for them especially because their Orisa is boosting them to where they can no longer play their “main.”

It does not bother me too much. The real problem is when they stack them, right? So an Orisa/Bastion/Pharah is not enough to handle wittle old me, they need to add discord and anti into the mix just to make sure I never get to swing my hammer. :joy:

But you know what? I lied. Swapping is still what bothers me. If they lead with a full counter composition, it was not personal. Hard to write them off as degenerates when they are playing what they want to play and I just happen to be a victim of circumstance.

Well said. (raises brandy)

These rants are beyond childish. Someone wants to swap they can swap. The game is the issue with hard counters. But soft counters and swapping to a hero that makes the game easier to win is how the game is supposed to be played. Perhaps you should play another game? I hear lego is fun for your age.

the genji having a bad time against sombra isnt always true. genji’s usually kill me as sombra and chase me down after translocate. i do have success against genji if my team is more agressive and dominating but 1v1 sombra/genji isnt in sombras favor really

she was better against him in ow1 for sure heh. 5 second lock out sometimes really messed with genjis

I am not denying that.

I am not denying that either.

I am not denying that either… Either.

According to who?

I am playing Valorant at the moment. It is quite fun. Nobody swaps to counter my Neon!

I am not even sure if this is attempting to call me a boomer or a zoomer. That being said, I dislike Legos. I am not a particularly creative person given I ENJOY ONE TRICKING. But nice try…

Buddha, this is unforgivable. What would (lego) Bastion think?

Imagine sweating, swapping every death to hard counters and still somehow being the same rank as the person refusing to get off some D tier subpar hero every single game yet they’re still winning just as much. Imagine then thinking you aren’t the one with the skill issue :joy: You’re in the same games as someone constantly soft throwing. Humble yourself.

“Byut cyownter shwappeeng ish pyart of thye gyame desiiignn”.

What those people dont realise is counter swapping in 6 v 6 is the game design. The rock, paper, scissors in 5 v 5 solo tank is an unintended flaw of changing format. One of the flaws that the devs themselves said was there in the very beginning before OWToo released, that they promised us they would find ways to patch out.

They didnt. And they wont. Rock paper scissors nerds needing that win more importantly than playing heroes they enjoy are abusing the unintended flaw in the game design.

Its no different in say CoD Modern Warfare, what was that bs sniper? M21? There was a gun that just let you win games pretty much for how broken it was. Its there in the game, you can use it, just dont expect to use it and not get shamed for needing the training wheels.

Ay, it’s there. So most people are gonna abuse it. But they are ignorant if they think rock, paper, scissors was intended. And naive if they think they dont deserve to be belittled every now and then for being annoying buggers needing training wheels.

Ay Its one thing to swap because theres 3 or more enemies hard countering you from game start. Theres no issue there.

Its another if theyre not countering you at all, and the only way you can win is to hard counter the tank who wasnt even hard countering you to begin with. You do that, you deserve to experience some shaming.

Majority of the time having no ult which is a killer because ults are important.

cant forget moira which is a kryptonite to genji

No Sombra player ever said xD

Honestly. Just play paladins if swapping annoys you so much. At least there no one is allowed to swap
