Let's do a prostate cancer drive with Blue Baptiste, like Pink was with Mercy

He’s pretty new, though. Maybe he could use some more lore, but I see a lot of people picking him in games. He’s harder to learn than Mercy, though. Don’t get me wrong, I luff the Mercy; I just tried Bap and phailed at him.

…does what?

It isn’t

It does because prostate cancer is exclusive to people with prostates

Not because of Baptiste.

This doesn’t make sense. The entire point of the op points the gender binary concepts. Not me .

Baptiste could be for neural cancer. Liver. Etc. But prostate was chosen for a gender binary and promotion of one gender. Which imo, is my largest beef with pink mercy.

Pink mercy wasn’t exclusive. But it wasn’t very neutral either. Which I think we should strive for

I’m not. Who said I was? I gave an opinion

That’s fine…I just think it shouldn’t be so narrow in scope

I’d argue her base design is better and she was shipped with pretty good legendaries. Plus, Shieldmaiden is great.

I have a problem with his core design (in-game only, he’s a hottie in lore) what with the bulky armor pieces and horrible bib.

I can definitely agree with the dreads though :relaxed:

I agree Shieldmaiden is great, but GOAT is just… Pink Mercy-quality.

I am trying to learn Brig so I can hopefully use it without getting laughed at; I even impulse-bought Brig’s golden mace so I don’t chicken out. xD

as far as i know cancer research is practically always research for curing a specific type of cancer, not finding a all-in-one solution to all types. people talk about cancer like its same old same for all types of cancer but they are actually fairly different from each other.

Thank you guys for making the point. I am not much for fighting. x_x

I think the similarity that all cancers have is they all deserve to be driven into full extinction.

Also, shirts! Don’t forget the shirts… however, they really need to produce them from a different factory the second time around.

Naw let’s make it a Zenyatta skin and do a charity for give people virus protection for their computers.

…Good god…

I find myself almost without words. Many times I have worn the badge of lack of empathy. It is due to experiences that I cannot change, but I do not hide the fact that I can sometimes lack the empathy others have, but your words are a new low.

You seriously think that an illness that people can have is not worth charity because the illness itself isn’t inclusive enough.

The only statement that I can think of to really hit home the message you deserve is, How dare you.

What was wrong with the Pink Mercy shirt factory?

I got the Pink skin for myself and I think 4 other people, but not the shirt.

I am pretty sure you’d want to partner with Kaspersky, Norton, or McAfee for that one. xD

The only thing I can say is stop feeling attacked and projecting on me because that isn’t what I said. I didnt say charity bad. I said, we as a group should be better In This specific context.

Take your fake high horse down a peg

I think his point is that people with prostate cancer shouldn’t be denied charity money for the sole reason that prostate cancer affects only men. Breast cancer CAN affect men but overwhelmingly affects women, so it wouldn’t be unfair to have a prostate cancer drive.

Your reasoning on which cancer charity does or does not deserve funding ignores the basic factor that all cancer is horrible and needs to be cured.

It is exactly what you said.

I’m literally only saying push forward.

If I make a thing that kind of can help people but focuses on one thing …that isn’t bad. Imo the point of overwatch specifically tho, is to be inclusive.

Imo the pink mercy skin should have been a skin for something like the American Cancer society. Because while bcrf supports cancer research, the specification of breast cancer imo, does just this. Divide focus. And it shouldn’t.

I understand it, because most charities that aren’t awful, are localized. But that’s still a choice to be not "so " inclusive.

For example, the American Cancer society openly supports all cancer research and isn’t awful (Susan Komen)

But it’s localized. And that doesn’t make sense for overwatch.

But I would prefer charities like that. More open for anyone of any sort.

So while breast cancer tends to be more oriented to women, men aren’t excluded like prostate cancer

Where? I said be more inclusive in the future. Not thing bad. That’s youre weirdo projection.

Look…

Google it. Breast cancer affects 99% women and 1% men. 1% of the breast cancer patients are men. That is your reasoning that a 100% men disease doesn’t deserve funding while a 99% women disease does.

Dying of cancer sucks. Everybody deserves a cure. Please just stop with the politics, because that is what it is.

They were made poorly and the sizes weren’t explicitly clear, so a lot of people got shirts in sizes that’d normally fit them (some people even bought a size up) and it didn’t fit them.

Thank you for telling me. I totally didn’t knwo that. o_o

Don’t think that will help. See, what people don’t understand is that when its about breast cancer and stuff tons of people care. When its about prostate cancer less than half the people will care. Also, there is the thing that Mercy was super popular and got an amazing skin. If anything a hero like Genji or Mccree should be the ones for the cause given they’re most popular male heroes and would help raising more money.

It’s not politics. It’s activism…which is what charity is. Why can’t you be equally encouraging to a more inclusive charity? Am I obligated to grant every mission for every person? We are discussing what we would like…I would like to push a narrative that I feel matches the game

Tbh, it’s super annoying because this always comes up and I feel like no one in this forum actually does charity work. Reflecting on the mission and theme of a charity to a company.

Which, while I know isnt everyone’s experience …somehow the argument of “I prefer another charity” becomes “you hate this charity”

That isn’t how it works.
