Let's be honest, capitalism won

Most people will buy this 15$ PvE pack.
1- people want to play PvE, they waited for years, and they will play it no matter what, even with 50$ price tag for 3 missions people would still buy and play it.
2- it’s actually profitable pack since you also get battle pass and free legendary skin for 15$.
3- just out of curiosity, people want to know what they have made for 4-5 years development.

no matter how much i would want to see big backlash from the community, marketing team did a perfect job and capitalism won.

Most people will defend this PvE pack

“Blizzard need to pay their bills” “You can’t expect to get game modes 4 free in a F2P Game”

Yeah… Blizzard, that small indie company.

Meanwhile Fortnite: Here’s my next big update son, 4 free.

I can pretty safely say the overwhelming majority would not spend $50 for 3 missions and nothing else.

Number 2 is basically the reason. For basically $5 you are getting the missions and a legendary as the BP is $10 already.

Am I the only one, who don´t care about PVE part in this game at all?
In OW1 it was “fun” to play it once for me. I didn´t have a “meltdown” over canceled PVE part in OW 2 and I am still not very interested about this missions.
Will I buy them? Who knows? I have all heroes and I play OW for PVP :woman_shrugging:
(Comming from RPG player, lol)
Yeah, when I want PVE, I play WOW I guess…I will see.

It’d say its still worth it to those who buy BP regularly. You get bp, 3 missions and also 1000 coins which you can use to unlock s7 bp i guess?

For those that are not interested in BPs at all however, it is a big f in an a.

I think if Blizzard came out and said “We’ve fully cancelled PvE however in it’s place each mission that we were going to release will get a full fledge cinematic every other season” that would have gone over better than what we’re getting.

If “capitalism won” then people would fully exercise their right to not pay and Blizzard might be forced to backtrack.

^ Pretty much this.

People: ‘‘Ah f… capitalism…’’
Also People: proceeds to buy anyway

That’s always an option. No-one is forcing you to pay.

I’m glad capitalism won. If anyone is looking for it to fail, go live in a communist country and enjoy that and get back to me.

Let me guess. 15 years old and your favorite youtuber is “libertarian”?

No idea who that is and I don’t watch garbage youtube or garbage pretend influencer/streamers, but if you think you’d enjoy something other than capitalism, go sign up for it, I am sure that North Korea, China, or Russia would enjoy having you as a citizen. Send me a post card and let me know how it turns out.

That’s not capitalism winning, that’s humanity giving into their impulses and desires rather than thinking logically.

Don’t conflate provision of goods and services with basic human needs.

That’s disingenuous

Case closed…

I hear Iran is nice this time of year.

Also, technically North Korea isn’t communist.

  • Vietnam on the other hand…

You don’t get it. Our current capitalism system is based on “Infinite production and benefits” Which is:

  1. Greedy
  2. Not even viable

The “Move to a communist country” argument just prove you didn’t have more than 16 yo and probably you have never worked in the real world.

Ask for a non predatory monetization didn’t mean “Im communist”.

Okay.

Something has to win. If someone wants to pay for the PVE, that’s their choice to make. I don’t feel compelled to do it and PVE doesn’t interest me.

Forget about seeing backlash from the community. What do you want to do action wise that’ll really get your point across? If it’s anything less than saying bye to OW and quitting (while completely moving on) after stating your dissatisfaction then you probably aren’t really sticking it to them.

I’m winning, because I never installed OW2 and they’re not getting a dime from me or anyone I can convince this is a bad deal.

Capitalism in action: They do bad service, they get no money and get bad publicity. If they don’t like it, well, that sounds like a skill issue to me.

I actually cared a great deal for PvE. After 2600 hrs in Competitive Overwatch (1), I’m done herding kittens. I liked the lore and the animated shorts from OW1.

The problem is. I just can’t justify spending money on a game when I have other things I enjoy.

  • Traveling
  • Rock climbing
  • SCUBA diving
  • Tinkering with Raspberry Pi (and similar)

I’m not gonna spend $20 very month on a game that was free. I don’t see the need or the reason to pay for in-game content when someone is going to post the story cinematics on youtube tomorrow night.

Valorant is much better than Overwatch

:nail_care:t2:

Correct… And that guy is a potato if he’s conflating your request for non-predatory game design practices with Communism.

BUT LIKE ACTUALLY THOUGH

Russia and NK are capitalist countries. Putin, in particular, rose to power because he represented a deviation from the socialists and internationalists.

Also, do you think there are only two economic theories? Capitalism and Other?

Other issues with the “just move” argument: it’s expensive to move and most countries don’t have open borders. deciding to just up and leave your country is damning it to never improve.

If someone gave me 15 dollars, I’d buy a sub - not this junk, ever.
