I agree that ximming is absolutely scummy and should be removed but even then i feel like it can still and will get on by pc since the ximmers have the max sensitivity of a controller which is a huge disadvantage.
You have a point, although sensitively I believe seems to “sorta” get affected by aim assist so it kinda helps there accuracy a bit. Although your still right in a way
And the only solution that will ever change anything is to remove aim assist, and add keyboard and mouse support to the console versons of the game…
This eliminates the desire and incentive to use these devices. Since you no longer need them, and with the keyboard and mouse support, you no longer have any need for aim assist, which removes the handicap the device gave to begin with…
Everyone wins, blizzard no longer has to worry about trying to catch and ban the players using them… console players are happy they no longer have to play against pc players with a input device disadvantage, and pc players are happy they no longer have to deal with playing against aim assist…
We really have to stop perpetuating the lie that MNK benefits from aim assist.
It doesn’t, it just doesn’t.

XIM is a problem, emulating a way of playing unsupported by the game is cheating, but it manifests itself in wake of the bigger issue of players not having their choice of preferred input in a game released in 2022.
I remember back in the day Jeff himself stated that they don’t want to have keyboard/mouse users in game on consoles and that Blizzard were working on a way to detect XIMs and other similar devices so as to ban them from being used in game because Blizzard consider it cheating.
Would be great if the current development team would give us an update on that. Is that still the plan or has that plan been abandoned or scrapped?
I know there is cross-platform in Quickplay, but is there any indication of what platform a player is currently playing on?
I know many games will have symbols to display the corresponding platform, but nothing has really indicated a console player to me and I’ve been playing a ton of QP.
Really digging cross-platform integration because that significantly reduces time between games and gives a variety of players to play with / against.
Wonder if there is some preferential matchmaking, though… I am starting to see some familiar faces in the early mornings.
Lastly, I’m curious if the report system is getting blasted with people thinkin’ someone’s cheating, but it’s really just aim assist from a cross-platform homie lol.
I honestly do not care. If they want to cheat, that is their prerogative. I will just deal with it. They usually suck as is. Those types get carried by their aim to the point where they are relatively easy to outplay.
You can’t add those hacks on console because the software doesn’t allow it…?
Anyway, while using Xim is “bad” anybody in Gm-1500 maybe masters in OW on console Xims, it’s a common fact and thing you’re going to have to accept.
I don’t use xim but I use something similar but it’s only to play with PC friends, it’s not all bad if you’re using it to actually have value in said game.
