It’s definitely a hard pill to swallow but… yeah.
I mean, it’s the case with every team-based shooter or MOBA. If you don’t have 3-5 other friends or grouped up players, it becomes a frustrating mess. This is amplified in Overwatch especially, where carry potential is almost non-existent. It’s a literal dice roll whether or not the next match is going to be fun or aggravating as hell.
When I got home this afternoon, I immediately jumped on Discord and immediately planned a six stack for QP. We lost a heap, but it was entirely OUR fault. No teammates to blame as we work mutually. Every match we were the same group. No longer held by the chains of luck that limit our strength.
What I’m saying is if you’re mostly frustrated with Overwatch or any competitive shooter solo queue, find some people you are comfortable with. Join a clan, look into r/OverwatchLFT or the official r/Overwatch Discord. The latter which I am making new friends in using the LFG channel. The experience is SO MUCH more fair and fun with people you trust and group with.

I would not say it is a bad game when you are playing alone but playin with friends is like 10x the fun of playing alone.
You can goof around and make funny jokes, while celebrating victory together and crying when you lose.
Friends always make everything better

I mean, humans are social beings. We find ANYTHING more fun in groups when there is communication.
Overwatch is good in solo queue if you are patient and mindful. I’m neither. xD

Imo if you want to play solo, play tf2. And if you want to play overwatch, grouping up is heavily advised.

solo queueing is basically gambling.

It’s a shame everything competitive is team-based these days. I’d love a FFA Hero shooter where the characters are all balanced solely for solo deathmatch.
Quake Champions exists but dayum, that is lacking in community xD

Huge shame considering quake is pretty good. Guess I’m just gonna wait for doom eternal’s online.
I have a soft spot for character rosters in games, I come from the FGC after all.
Same!
Scorpion main in mk11 and greninja main and ness secondary in smash
I used to play a lot of Tekken and Smash. Mains were Alisa and Isabelle respectively.
Haven’t played much fighting games for yeeeaaars.
The issue with that is it tends to prioritise putting you with other stacks rather than people at you level. My group has a mix from bronze to diamond, so i can accept that it gonna be quite the mix but I think pretty bs getting matched up with masters+ stacks =_=“
That’s where Comp comes in
i’ve allready accepted this fact, it’s a big reason why i don’t play competitive.
there’s simply too many random factors, i’ve allways been like this when it comes to multiplayer online competitive games.
there’s simply too much frustration in playing with random people in a competitive setting.
but quickplay is more or less like deathmatch, no one is keeping score and you can focus on yourself more, but sure the creeping frustration does exist there as it is a team game that is pretty reliant on team synergy still and it’s apparent when you have more or less than the enemy in terms of teamwork.
We’re all spread out too far to group up XD Also comp is an absolute crap show… The more people I group up with just reduces the likelihood our team is getting the smurf that’s gonna trash the game
I often play with Americans although I’m in OCE. Not enough of a community here in Australia. The lag only really affects me after all.
EU maybe not, as that ping is damn high
I tried that and all I got was anxiety. It’s impossible for a newbie to try and penetrate a 10+ year old multiplayer FPS community.
The problem is my friends who used to play Overwatch all quit. :c
All my friends hate Overwatch so I feel your pain
Hence why I used Discord to find teams

Yeh I’m in Aus too. Lag upsets me though so I just play Apex and the first Witcher XD
You guys are not alone on friends quitting the game.
