It makes no sense, so basically until the end of the competitive year I have to sit on a bunch of legacy comp points FOR A WHOLE YEAR before I can spend them - IF I cumulated enough to buy the golden gun.
This makes no sense. Early on when the team announced jade (“emerald” back then) weapons, they literally said you would be able to buy gold by combining legacy points with regular comp points, and emerald ones only with regular comp points.
Literally just let us combine them if we want gold specifically dammit, what the hell?
Making sense is not a priority in the rewards and monetization departments.
Everything is designed to force artificial player engagement.
Their main metrics are playtime and money spent.
Everything implemented is designed to force players into playing and spending, even if it’s predatory, unfun, or lame.
if I had to guess, the reason is it would take some time to implement the feature into the backend just for this use case since it’s not really useful anywhere else and they can’t be bothered / don’t think it’s worth the investment
