Let us save replays

So why is it that we cant have replays that can either A. be saved locally and last past the next patch. or B. an option to save an mp4 of a specific player through the match, even if this isn’t native through the overwatch program, similar to a website with youtube to mp4 converter, but you paste the replay code and select what hero to spectate? I think that this would just be a “Quality of life” change that would be huge because rather than sit there and record all the replays, I’d rather keep playing. A potential solution for this is recording as you play, but then performance suffers and you cannot hide the team chat, where as you do not see team chat from the replay viewer. so my question is, what is limiting blizzard from adding this feature?

I agree I think this would be a fantastic future to add

As you said, performance suffers if one tries to record the game while playing the game with weak hardware

We already have a similar feature for saving POTG replays as mp4s, so I can’t imagine it would take that much work to integrate. It would probably take a long time for the client to actually write the files though.

Honestly, maybe if there was a way to queue them to play in a specific order so then when you were done playing for the day you could start recording and record them all as one, which would require more editing later, I just don’t want to have to sit there and watch, and given that the audio isn’t speed up the audio, you cant just record it at 2x and slow it down in post…
