Let us have more people on the avoid list

There’s 5 people on a team, why would I pick 2 of them if I don’t want to play with any of them in the next game? Defeats the entire purpose of the system.

Also, there’s way more than just 2 griefers in overwatch.

If you don’t want to play with any of them then just queue dodge

The entire point of having an avoid teammate button is that you don’t have to queue dodge the next game.

Also the matchmaking is fussing broken and I keep getting put with the same 10 people over and over in both ranked and arcade, even when I queue dodge. I don’t know what the fuss’s up with that, but they’re in every mode I play, I’m starting to think the game has bots.

No, it absolutely is not. The point of avoid player is that someone made such a huge negative impact on you in such a way that muting or reporting does not solve, that you do not wish to play with them again.

Dang, that sucks man. How many people do you think should be avoidable at one time? I agree 2 is a little low but I feel like upping it too much is super abusable

My honest opinion is 5 cleared every 20 games, rather 2 cleared every week. People who play alot generally fluctuate SR enough to move away from those griefers, but you still need like, a decent amount because griefers are like 1/15th of the playerbase since Blizzard does not enforce griefing penalties harshly.

You can also remove people from the list yourself. The week expiration is just so that they’ll naturally fall off and you much more than likely will forget they existed by then.

That seems reasonable imo. Id be willing to try it out

Yeah but the point was that playing games changes your SR so there’s no point in keeping them on the list because you wouldn’t get queued with them anyways, at least in ranked.

It’s not.

In the highr ranks they’d rip through people like BUTTER with such a system.

If they do too much…the queues become HORRIBLE. In addition…some players may be locked out the game ENTIRELY basically FORCING Blizzard to get rid of the system as Soft bans aren’t their style (which is what I’m hoping for  )

So… remove them? I don’t know what else to tell you.

I would edit out the explicit words in your post since mods would probably still remove it. Yes the matchmaking isn’t perfect

Oh jeez, a hundred or so people don’t want to play with me, Blizzard please remove avoid teammate, I don’t deserve to be punished for what is obviously my fault. While you’re at it, remove the report system, it’s not my fault people report me, it’s just the system.

The feature wasn’t really meant to avoid bad players on your team. Everyone at every rank gets bad players, the ranking system is supposed to handle those people over time.

The avoid system is really for people who you do not want to play with under any circumstances. I can’t remember the last time I thought an entire team was terrible, if they’re that bad they will drop in SR. I can remember dealing with Torb one tricks, griefers, etc. It’s a very rare situation that the entire team are those people.

I could see having like 5-10 avoids max though. I think Blizzard started with 2 to see the type of effect it would have on the matchmaking system and they’ll probably add a few more in time.

My dude, how are you missing the point this much?

Oi. I’m not typically avoided…I’m talking on behalf of all my One Tricks out there! (I guess…I’m one this season.)

They said it was fine, soft banning people for it is as bad as them banning people for it.

More importantly though, you GOTTA realize there’s only so many people on a region, at a rank, on at the same time. This system accounts for EVERYONE that everyone is avoiding.

I need to avoid as many OT Symmetras, Bastions, Torbs etc. as possible. I want to avoid them all.

Try making your point clearer, then?

I’ve just had a team with 2 DPS-only healers (Moira on damage and Lucio on speed), one guy afk in spawn talking sh!t on the top scorer as being bad and a zarya that doesn’t know her buttons (to a degree that leads me to believe he was doing it on purpose, couldn’t even Q). That’s 4 people I need to avoid out of 5 and it was just one team.

Sometimes it isn’t your fault, though. There are so many people who unjustly report others. It’s bound to happen with this system, too
