I feel like this would lead to a bunch of Reaper players who just wraith around maps and pick up dead enemy orbs, then die because they arent participating in the fight, and all they do is feed and die while their whole team has just respawned, making each fight a 5v6
I hate to say it but thatâs because dps are expendable there are 15 of them if only half are viable you still have more variety than support if only half are viable since that means that only 3 heroes in the support class are viable I know itâs unfair and I donât believe Brigitte should be a hard counter but thatâs how it is

If I could view that average damage amp for Masters and Grandmasters only and not the other ranks where Mercys like WhateverAlex plays that donât know damage amps value in then I would take these stats more seriously.
If Lucioâs raises it by 20%, and Mercyâs is -0.05%, that isnât good. It literally means by using her super powerful ult, she becomes a detriment to her teamâs chances of winning.

Higher rank, less damage amped, even in comp. Also, when looking at a OWL player who plays Zenyatta, you can see he does 14,000 damage a match on average.

With your 2000 damage, that has to be spread across all teammates and is only a sliver of their damage overall.
Considering how quick Valkyrie is gained, and therefore used, it should be a lot higher, but, yaâknow, not that great.

Iâve been playing since Season 4 on XBL, PS4, and PC since season 5 and Iâve never not seen reaper during play sessions spanning over 1000 levels: quick play, no limits, total mayhem, 2cp, payload, koth, comp bronze through plat, dm, elimination, tdm, ctfâŚI think the only mode I have not seen reaper in is Lucioball or Mercy Boxing.

I use damage amp generously, and it still fails to amaze me.
Why are you bringing up Zens damage?
Also damage amp = damage added onto the base damage. A damage amped McCree gets 21 damage added onto his 70. Damage amp doesnât track 91 damage every time he hits somebody. It tracks 21. That is why the damage amp stat isnât super high like you are expecting 10000 dmg amped for some reason.
Because I donât care to go through pages of support mains looking for a DPS main. Also, Zen does ludicrous amounts of damage. He is a DPS in himself.

On topic, I would love to see Reaper eat souls IF Mercy is granted the ability to rez everyone within 5-10m of her when casting Resurrect. This would make rez more valuable to those willing to protect Mercy while encouraging direct Reaper counterplay with more tasty souls to devour and a relatively easy kill.
I think Reaper and Mercy are both broad spectrum enough for this to work

If you enabled a McCree to do 9100 damage, your damage amp will have tracked 2100. Not 9100.
Yes and that still means mercy is providing almost a 5th of the damage Zen is providing it doesnât matter how it is tracked what matters is the damage she brings rez is whatâs keeping her viable add in a counter like this and she becomes f tier leaving zenyatta as the only viable healer cause guess what gutting multiple viable healers doesnât make Ana and Lucio viable it just means thereâs only one left
I did, and it doesnât help your point at all. If the damage amp has such value, youâd expect a lot more damage added on, those high ranking Mercys would know how to use it effectively. However, it doesnât actually add as much as you would think because, in truth, it isnât that all high and mighty.

Because an average match lasts for 10 minutes and average damage per match on a player is about 12,000. Mercy also needs to heal and cant boost at the same time. Do you not see how this mathematically adds up?

You say damage amp is weak because it apparently has low average damage amped per game. When mathematically the damage amplified per game adds to how it is expected to. Every high rank Mercy player knows the value of damage amp and uses it as much as they can when they do not need to heal.
