They need to bring back the old health globes alongside the “new” self-heal passive. In addition, they should incorporate Shadow Step into Wraith Form (you can fly during Wraith Form), and add as a new E ability the smoke grenades that appeared in the cinematic trailer. Only then will Reaper be playable.
60 HPS can be nullified by one Winston, and can’t save a team from a basic offensive ult. If you think the damage boost is so powerful go look at a Mercy’s average damage boosted and look how low it is.
It encourages your team to group up for a wipe, and is mind numbing for the Mercy player.

IMO, Mercy’s strength is in her consistency and mobility, and trading an entire DPS slot just to potentially deny a res doesn’t seem like a hard counter to me.
Reaper is garbage because he can barely do his job, I think that can be fixed with some mobility adjustments.
Mercy is going to meta until we clip her wings a bit, but that topic is a black hole.
Damage boost is one of the key reasons dragongrav is the meta lol. Because it outdamages trans.
Yeah you also have other supports on your team healing, and Winston isn’t exactly meta anymore and gets shredded by snipers.

Okay but give reaper cast time 1.75 sec and slowdown 75% for that skill, and it’s uncancellable (reaper can’t use any skill while casting) with 30 sec cooldown. It is needed So that the soul eating skill have counterplay.
I’m not saying whether or not this should happen. Hell I very rarely play Mercy. I just wanted to point out she’s already super vulnerable while going for the res. It would probably be fair then to lessen the cast time on Res if there was a hero that could entirely disable her skill.
Why would Reaper need a meme cast time on it, considering he won’t be at risk using the ability anyway as the soul he is consuming is likely to be from a player he just killed.

If you wanna play meta heroes then realistically the only other person healing is Zenyatta, aka an impressively slow healer.
Also considering Winston has one of the lowest DPS in the game, and we are playing meta heroes, Valkyrie means absolutely nothing to an attacking hanzo. It’s easily outdamaged.

It’s a skill to counter res, so it is powerfull. it should have a repercussion for using it. If reaper can just spam it anytime res won’t have any usage in the game.

You clearly do not know the value damage boost can give. It helps secure kills. It gives burst damage even more burst damage. It charges ultimates faster including your own.
Tons of utility can be provided from an always available damage boost.

Collecting souls didn’t prevent rezzing.
Of all the things, I wish they had kept the original and added the damage leech to it instead of removing that aspect entirely. It would fix a lot of problems, and would make reaper assassinations more permanent after he flees away in wraith form
It did during early beta.
You just used words to embellish something I’ve proven isn’t as insanely strong as people like to think credibly.

It’s not. Coz it wont be automatic, Reaper needs to collect it first. Collect it I mean, by going into souls spot which takes time, mobility and can be very dangerous if enemy team is near.

I can also bring in the OWL analysis, which showed that Mercy’s who used Valkyrie had a 0.05% chance less to win a fight over Mercys who didn’t use Valkyrie, if you’d like?. For comparison, Lucio’s ult raises his team’s chance of winning by around 20% iirc, in that same article.
