Let me chose my server on console

To begin I will give a little backstory. I’m an active duty Marine with the United States military so I am consistently moving and sometimes living abroad. I play on an Xbox One X with internet speeds about 60-100mbs down and 10-30mbs up. I generally have a ping of 90-110 on Asia servers as I currently live in Japan. When I play on American servers I have around 180-260 ping. Europe is by far the worst with around 300-500 ping. I main hitscan heroes, which makes ping matter a great deal if no one has had to deal with poor connections before. I play at the high platinum to low diamond levels and have been on the Top 500 leaderboards for Asia on 2 occasions because the SR requirement is so low.

Now for my issues with these servers.

  1. Solo queue in Asia is terrible. There are only a dozen or so players at my SR level in all of Asia and I am consistently playing the same individuals.
  2. Solo queue times can be anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour on a daily basis due to the lack of players.
  3. The diamond rank description reads that I cannot be placed in a match with people in placements or not within 1000 SR. This is not the case, I am getting matched with bronze players all the way up to platinum.
  4. The looking for group has helped dramatically because I can now play on America servers if the majority of players are from there. The problem though is if I get into a European group, where my connection is beyond poor.
  5. I cannot tell what server I am on nor what server anyone else is from or playing on.

Solutions I believe for these issues could simply be allowing players on console to chose what server they wish to play on. If they chose not to do this can we make it so there is an indicator to which server we will connect to in a looking for group match? Honestly me being matched onto a European server is almost a gaurenteed loss due to my poor connectivity. It’s almost as if the match is 5v6 and there is nothing I can do but sit through it and try my hardest. I don’t mind playing on America servers if I am a tank as I don’t necessarily need good connection to play well as one, but it matters so match in certain instances.

I do love having only around 90-100 ping when connecting to Asia servers and I can actually play the game how others enjoy it, and I notice how much it makes a difference. I can’t choose where I live so why can’t I choose where I play my games?

Switch to ps4 - problem solved
Everything higher than 180 ping is unplayable anyway

This is more than some simple console war nonsense. Even if I were to play on PlayStation that would still not iliviate the issue of the lack of players in Asia. Solo queue times would still be ludicacrious with no option for me to switch to American servers with the trade off of higher ping.

Any connection is playable but where the fun and hit registration is where it matters. Anything above 150 is pretty normal for me and I still maintain a 50% accuracy with widow and Mcree. I can only imagine how well I could perform with better servers.

There is huge playerbase in Asia on ps4. Where you see a few people in t500 on xbox, on ps4 you see absolutely other picture.
If you want to play on US server, you can use VPN connection on your router.

i agree MiStErSiiCk-1818, because i was a xbox player before and i got rank master before and the sever doesnt give me the top 500 icon in competitive play

I’d suggest just building a pc or buy a gaming laptop.
