That’s one and the same, though.

I wonder if they’d prefer to keep everyone’s queue times low and tanks unhappy, but other roles somewhat happy

Which has proven completely impossible over the last 2 years.

Power creeping supports toward being a sub-DPS role because of DPS and tanks didn’t suddenly bring back all the support players that left during S1; it simply allowed the role to be one to which DPS players moved in order to have lower queue times and in so doing also made the lives of DPS miserable while removing a lot of fun from both roles.

Adding the DPS passive, making it easier to hit shots and murdering all the breakpoints simply made DPS brainless to play (unless you wanted to play speciifc heroes which were made largely useless by the change) and even had a similar effect on support heroes, for whome it became pointless to ever really try healing and made focusing on DPS instead the only real priority. At the same time, tank became even more miserable.

Gigabuffing tanks for the umpteenth time didn’t help tank; it only exacerbated the issue for tanks needing to be countered because otherwise the game is unplayable for the other two roles.

That most recent event was even a full circle back to S1 of OW2, but after a ton of power creep had happened to all roles on average. And the game is much worse for it.

There is a massive outcry from people who are unhappy with both the state and the direction of the game for the last 2 years. The health and fun of the game should come first and thus far, it simply hasn’t; it’s been seemingly controlled by hubris and apparently blatant lies.

Also I’m not really fully sold on the queue times atm since they’re pretty bad right now and that’s with them messing with the system to lessen queue times ever since S1.

people keep saying this as if we’re already running short of tanks in 5v5 aswell…

well those 100+ people find 6v6 more fun, to the point they would return to the game they stopped playing alltogether

I didn’t miss that, I know that,

because lesser evil is still not good

it’s like asking, “why does dirt taste better than burnt ashes?”

there you go

for some it apparently isn’t I guess

because they don’t expect the constant bleed to bite them eventually in the long run

the Q times are quite decent, but it’s not like there’s a common theme in the queue time durations too

Wow, that’s so many people

my experience with queue times, regardless of role or mode this season is…dire.

In OW1 i was a tank main since release.

I gave up 2 weeks after OW2 was released.

Wouldn’t matter my guy.

Lets take just steam player base into account. so about 30,000 or so players.

and given that the tank role ques are mostly balanced with other roles give or take that moment.

We can say only about 15% of the player base actively players tanks at a time taking the role split into account. As in one tank for every two dps/support.

Which would be about 4,500 players. Meaning to balance out the ques your going to need at least that many tanks to consistently play the game. Just to balance out the steam player base.

So a few hundred or a even a couple of thousand players wouldn’t really make the cut. Especially when those would be split between PC/Console.

In OW1 I loved the individual tank heroes, their tools, and individual hero interactions. but hated how I had to play them, around the other tank.

In OW2 I’m free to just interact with all those things. Without needing to do the tango with another player. Or having to play around two separate tanks.

Well… we do? I mean they are the least played role, so making all games take double the amount of tanks and then NERFING them to not be unkillable (aka making the personal tank experience worse), is just not the move.

my queue times are as far as I know, highest on DPS which is max 3-4 minutes,

you didn’t “have to” play them around the other tank.

you keep twisting the ideas of interest here,

just because the tanks in 6v6 wouldn’t be RaidBosses, doesn’t mean the tank experience would be worse,

you are among a small minority that enjoys RaidBoss tanks for that matter, and the reason why this game is in such a trash state.

I only play tank in oq, it’s the only place where i can get a tank buddy.

It’s too hectic to tank all alone.

wishful thinking but we’ll need them to come back if 6v6 returns

That’s assuming they’re all even tank mains lol and not just desperate 6v6 lovers trying to get their format back.

it’s not wishful thinking, those are actual people that didn’t need to comment but did

I’m only placed with support. Either masters 1 or GM5. Mine can fluctuate between 5 mins or 15 mins.

I wonder how many Master/GM players quit OW2 because of the change

Maybe make the food taste good instead of downgrading the food and selling the same stuff with less garnish. Let’s not pretend OW2 was made for queue times OVER greed.
They could have tried open hero queue with limits. It has nothing to do with 5v5.
They just wanted to sell the same game and markup old skins.

they will always pretend 5v5 had to do with more than just queue times,

but they will always be wrong, and their arguments will fail

Can you resell a game by making role lock become open queue hero limits?
No.
It’s only logical that the move to 5v5 was a push for remarketing old assets.
And we got less = less gameplay. The esports for 5v5 was utterly boring too.

It’s just basic logic that to resell a game… they had to move to 5v5 because fixing queue times alone was not enough.
Then people pull queue time out from under their seat like, “aha! Jeff Kaplan, the figurehead of OW, told me this at the end of his career before he quit!”.
That isn’t even logical unless they believe hacking away at a good format without trying modifications on role queue is perfectly normal and reasonable game design and 5v5 had nothing to do with reselling a game.
(In which case they may be as insane as the devs they believe every word from)

The devs either lied to them and they defend it, or the devs are nuts and butchered the game for a quick solution. Doesn’t look good for the queue time defenders in either scenario.

To be clear, the queue times werent improved as much as they are today as a result of 5v5, they had to blow open the matchmaker to get current queue times.
