Is it just me, or are ppl in EU less talkative then in overwatch 1, I’ve been off the game for 1-2 years and nowadays I fell like no-one are speaking anymore… I think I’ve having a pretty normal voice so it wouldn’t be that …

Some people say they’re afraid of getting banned, I don’t know will they get banned even if they didn’t curse or insult? Because I don’t understand what are the things they will be banned for
However, I’m in ME servers and VC is kinda abandoned unfortunately, some are afraid of toxicity, some just don’t feel like it

Yeah middle east, low Voice chat since OW2, maybe even in OW1, and I’m not necessarily talking about people speaking, I’m talking about people joining in the first place
I used to hear chants of target “zarya zarya zarya”
Used to hear discords.
Used to hear “Mei no iceblock! 1 under bridge!”
Used to hear “widow top of choke”
Used to hear “break reinshield, i bomb!”
Now no ones in chat because they dont want to get banned.
All i hear left are toxic players…
I still give call outs in Vc sometimes, I’m not toxic with my teammates as long as they’re not toxic or arrogant

Based on my experience on console pool competitive:
Not that much, it’s very unpredictable. You can have some really decent matches, you can have some unbalanced matches (you know people love to create 1000 accounts and smurfs are too many), you can also have some toxic players (and I mean very very toxic at times). All that can happen within 1 rank range. Hehehehe
I used to hear all that also before, are many ppl nowadays getting banned due to VC?
In early seasons of ow1 there was comms like every game. I think it’s less to do with fear of getting banned and more about the matchmaking being known to suck. So nobody wants to talk to people who are not their same skill level.

In EU, not everybody talk the same language.
If the players pool size decrease, you would more likely get matched with foreigners making mic coms harder. Not mentioning racism and F2P opening up to younger players.
No one talks, why risk a legacy account with 1000$ worth of skins
I have getting warnings when i use text or voice chats so i am playing without any comms for a long time. Just getting in a match and getting out a match. Broken matchmaking system and boosted players are increasing toxicity and most people can’t stay calm against that level of absurdity. I used to gave infos about important cooldowns, shotcalls, calling low hp and dead enemies on voice and tell some jokes in between rounds but not anymore. I got chat restrictions, suspended 3 times and still getting warnings if i use any voice or text chats. If you don’t want to worry about getting warnings, your safe bet is closing all comms which is everyone does i guess. In my opinion, thats the result of it
That’s seem to be an issue that are making the game more and more difficult, when normal people who wanna use coms, comes with ideas and stuff getting baned
Yes, it is an issue for the game’s fabric for sure. This game is a team based competitive game and requires comms just like other games
