Legacy account = plat 1, fresh accounts = GM

I can’t climb on my legacy account because i keep getting potato teammates. It’s like i’m literally getting NEW players.

However, when i play on my fresh accounts i pretty much only get good teammates. Is anyone else having the same problem with their legacy account? I climbed up to GM very quickly on my fresh accounts and have stayed there since S1.

Why am i getting so much better teammates on my fresh accounts? The difference is clear as day. I’m starting to think that my competitive MMR is broken on my legacy account because i’m getting really good teammates in QP.

In fact, i only play with and against Masters, Grandmasters and Top 500 in QP but as soon as i play competitive it’s back to potatoland again.

ofc not because you were plat hardstuck your whole life and fresh acc just boosted you with no competition.
I did 2 legacy accounts into gm5 on support with no problem in 20-25 games (started in m4), the same with freshies.

Same thing is happening to me

Nah i was GM in most seasons of OW1 too. Some Master but mostly GM.

So you are saying that newbies can be boosted to GM in 15-20 games? Because that’s what i did.

That sounds like bull to me.

I was also floating from 3800 to 4400, but you want to tell me you droped to p1, which is BS for an actual GM player. When I grinded OW2 on these accounts I also checked my teammates profiles, they have varied from 2400 to 2900 in ow1 seasons. Happened a lot, but still, I didn’t drop to plat. So what’s your issue then?

That’s what i’m trying to figure out

If your theory about me being a hardstuck plat is true then i wouldn’t be playing against GMs and top 500s in every game in QP.

My queue times are 6 minutes on tank, 4 minutes on dps and 4 minutes on support.

I also should’ve been deranked by now on my fresh accounts.

IDk, mb you were playing brig goats and then orisa double shield which boosted and maintained a lot of those who never deserved to be in high ranks (boosted by a hero).
QP MMR is separate from Comp’s and this also never stops you from abusing heroes that brought you to higher MMR even for QP.

If you are not spreading misinformation and complete BS, then my only assumption is that you didn’t grind your main in ow2. S1-S3 MMR was detached from SR, therefore I had some p1 accounts with top100 MMR in these seasons. Those accounts turned out GM1-GM5 in season4 start without me playing on them. If you haven’t been playing on your legacy account, then this MMR thingy (s1-s3) might be saved (+decays). So, just play more and climb, if you are not a plat pleb you will succeed.
Flat gm now feels like ow1 diamond, so there should be no problem at all if you play heroes with solo-carry potential.

Yes, possibly. I thought of that too. I hope that’s the case because otherwise i feel pretty much scr*wed without a complete MMR reset.

It is much easier to rank up on a fresh account that doesn’t have a well established MMR. Why do you think all the unranked to top500 streamers are already in diamond+ games within like 20 games played?

In short, everything about the matchmaker is broken, nothing is working, nothing makes sense and not even the devs know what is going on.

Not only that but the MM also likes to mix solid players with unstable accounts to figure out where the unstable players belong but it hurts the solid players in the process, since most of them are bad.

:skull: what is that

Wait it out, eventually you’ll hit a mid point on both

lmao I climbed out of diamond to GM on my legacy account and never had to buy an account. Just get good lmao.

The game has too many smurfs and boosters. The game needs a huge ban wave to these accounts including the Unranked to GM streamers.

You were on the good side of the Bell curve.

I made a similar thread not too long ago. It seems to me that since there is no more derank every season, blizzard intentionally slows down the rank gain

Not the first time I’ve heard this story. Older accounts being stuck in a certain rank and then when they make a new account they skyrocket in higher elo. I’m sure there’s such a scenario where over time you do get better but you’re also being paired against other players also stuck in your rank, stuck in your situation who have gotten better over time but not ranking up. Then you have the added stress of teammates who are always either going to be decent, because of their rank, or not that great, because they’re a rank lower than you are. That’s where the struggle really happens.
