On Xbox when I click left stick whilst playing (interact bound) it opens up the chat box in the middle of game play. It’s extremely frustrating, especially as it happened a few weeks ago and then stopped and started today whilst I was in a comp game.

Just happened to me while playing. I fixed it by disabling the chat button completely by going to the menu, then leaving Interact empty. Only problem is i can no longer bring up the chat menu.

Most infuriating glitch in an already awful game because I can’t switch it off. L thumbstick is bound to nothing, and yet it still brings up chat.

Its steam controller settings that is causing the issue. The chat box popping up is a steam one

Normal Xbox controller. This just started happening yesterday the game is unplayable for me this sucks.

This bug just started happening to me today. Is this on Blizzards radar? Original post is 6 months old and yet the bug is still starting for people it seems. Another player started having this issue 18 days ago. This makes the game unplayable.

Just got the bug, had my L3 binded to jump. I literally cant funtion in game

This has been an issue for me since launch. I’m on PS5. Before Season 4 it used to open up if I pressed down on my DPad or moved my left stick up. It was annoying but I was able to navigate menus still.
Now since the new season has started I can’t use either the down button on my DPad or move my left stick down so now I can’t even navigate menus at all.
So it started again for me today and can’t turn it off this time! Like WTF?!?! Been playing this game since beta 1 and it’s been amazing but this bug keeps coming back
Just started happening to me and no unbinding has worked (June 19th, 2023)
Ive just come on here to see if this is a common problem as its jist started happening to me today, so theres nothing i can do to solve it?

Just started happening to me too. I bound it to saying “I understand” but I must now be the most annoying player to play with EVER!!! I must say “I understand” 30 times in a game. SORRY ANYONE I PLAY WITH!!!
You can bind it to weapon swap, that’s generally useless.
Bind it to jump, and use it to jump around like a dodgy monkey.
Dunno how yall are accidentally pressing in the movement analog. Just unbind it?
I don’t have chat bound, it’s generally pretty useless and annoying to use on console. If you really want to chat, you can also open the menu and press the stick. It’s always in the menu.
Just had the bug. Had to throw a comp game because chat box kept appearing and then I could no longer move.

I am experiencing this issue on Aug 30th, 2024. The comp match won, luckily, but team thinks I was trying to throw a match! Xbox series S

has there been a fix for this yet? it is happening to me and has made it impossible to actually play
I had this happen today. Restarting the game has thankfully fixed it, but how infuriating to have to play through a game with chat keeping on popping up

This happens to me all the time. I have to always remember to go into training before I start a match to check. Then restart the game if so. Just happened today again. Incredibly annoying
I reset game and it fixed it for me
