Left click bug with holding LMB. G403

Fix that please already. I dont want change mouse cuz one of last patches broke game. If i reverse LMB and RMB it works fine. Mouse is fine too, problem only with overwatch.
Any heroes that requires holding LMB just unplayable.

I have the exact same problem since the last patch. It’s really annoying and I don’t want to change my mouse aswell.

So, there is no answer?

Try to connect the mouse in a usb3 port

I just wanted to visit a bunch of these threads because I experienced it with two mouses and know how frustrating it is. However, I’m confident I’ve stumbled on the root cause, although it is very counter intuitive. TLDR at very bottom but I wanted to be thorough because there are a lot of unresolved threads.

Just for some background, here is what I experience:
-Seemingly only in Overwatch, the primary fire would stop working or stutter, mostly with tracking style heroes and typically only when in CLOSE COMBAT and often only when the cross-hair is directly over the enemy.
-Did not happen (or was very rare) to happen against bots in the practice range or even against AI. Definitely seemed like a bug within OW.

I’ve tried all the standard troubleshooting fixes: re-install graphics card, re-install OW, mess with a bunch of other programs that may cause overlay issues, etc.

Some history: First happened with Logitech G403 mouse which is a common denominator in MUCH (but not all) cases I’ve read. Bought a new, more expensive, Steel Series Rival 650 mouse and the problem went away - until 4 months later when the problem cropped back up.

Obviously it wasn’t a Logitech issue. I did come across a seemingly common wear-and-tear issue among gaming mouses, aptly dubbed the “double-click” problem (easily googled). It’s not totally intuitive that this is it but comparing my experience with WoW players ( noticing “skipping” when trying to navigate the map), etc. and diving into what that could all entail, it seemed convincing.

I even took the newer mouse apart to inspect the switch and did see the spring tension possibly flattened out a bit due to repetitive clicks (and possibly too much force during clicks) in such a manner that i could see where the double-click (or interruption of clicking) could occur based on how much force you’re applying to the M1 or M2 key.

Now, this made no sense why it was only in OW and only when I’m in close combat fights. But it is reasonable to posit that, especially during close-combat fights with actual people (as opposed to bots), your adrenaline would cause you to increasingly ramp up the force you’re holding down your mouse button with due to the intensity of the match. I think I was able to confirm this outside of OW, just during normal desktop usage by holding down M1 with exaggerated force to see that the issue is present there as well.

If your mouse is old, this is reasonably expected wear-and-tear. My latest mouse was only 4 months old which is quite early to fail. Steel Series happily warrantied /replaced the device. I should add that if your mouse is susceptible to this because you have a heavy finger in intense situations, you may want to spring for higher quality mouses (with higher quality switches) just to prolong the inevitability of this happening. Or learn to ease up on M1. If you’re more savvy, maybe find out what switch they’re using and replace it fully if it fails or attempt to fix the spring tension on the existing switch (not easy IMO).

TLDR; It is not an in-game issue. It is a hardware issue, referred to as the “double-click problem” common with gaming mouse due to wear-and-tear on the internal switch. It only appears to be in close combat fights because adrenaline is causing you to really lean on that M1 button.

My wireless G403 ended up doing the same exact thing on Counter Strike Global. EXACT same thing. Idk if it can be fixed, i ended up getting a new one but it’s wired and it works great. Now i just used my wireless one for my laptop which is nice, but still sucks it stopped working correctly when holding left click.

Just messes up when trying to hold left click and spray someone down. Weird
