Leaving Overwatch until role queue removed from QP

Hi Blizzard,

Jumped on to QP today to find role queue. Hated it from start to finish. Long queues for my favourite role. Boring team comps. 2-2-2 might work in competitive but it’s dull as anything in QP where people want the freedom to play what they want to play. I’m leaving Overwatch until role queue in QP is moved to arcade.

What an utterly pathetic reason to abandon the game. You literally have the exact same mode in QP Classic, but no, you want it your way.

I’m against the principle of Role Q, but I can’t say it hasn’t worked out.

However, there is Classic QP in Arcade that’s there for people like you (or me when I want that kind of game). Are you worried/concerned that it won’t be a permanent mode? I can understand that.

Ok, more effort. Being playing pretty much daily since launch and QP is my favourite and only game mode outside of seasonal events. OW is (was) probably my favourite game. I loved the counterpicking. I loved the short queue times. The weird thing is that even the non-DPS roles have longer queue time than prior to role queue. So dumb. Not fun.

Yes, I know the mode is available in arcade. But that just means the game mode is effectively killed. I’m guessing 95+% of the player base does not use arcade.

Ok, I have a small sample size of ~8 games where I selected all the roles and queue times were ~2min. Normally 40sec-1min.

oh no i had to wait 40 seconds to 1 minute for a match in the middle of the week at probably late time.

Got my first of three loot boxes for the week playing QP Classic last night. Why are we complaining? Lol. Same mode, free loot. My only complaint will be if it joins the rotation and doesn’t stay a permanent mode like Mystery Heroes.

I queue as DPS and it doesn’t feel much different from what the queue times were before role queue :man_shrugging:

QP Classic is literally QP you knew for years. It’s not a wasteland of 6 DPS teams.

I’m sure Activision will be absolutely destroyed when they here you’re leaving. I’d avoid pretty much every other competitive online game too if I were you, it might be news but they also tend to have queue times.

I’d recommend just taking a break and coming back to see if a fresh mind might help.

Gears 5 is out soon so I’ll be out for a lil bit myself.

People keep saying Classic QP is the same as before. It ‘is’ when game first came out, but most of us liked the Limited role. Only one of each hero.
More Original QP, not classic qp.
