I had my account closed by the Overwatch team ill detail my last 2 suspensions as best I can and also a multitude of other problems with the developers and GM’s who monitor this game.
2nd to last suspension: "Me telling my team that im a type 1 diabetic (me playing the role of DPS) and I have diabetic retinopathy (Basically internal bleeding of the eyes that can lead to vision loss or blindness). Starts off ok but as we lose my team starts flaming me, to which I state that theyre harassing a disabled person (Type 1 diabetes and any complications caused by it were changed to disability status back in 2012 under President Obama) Harassment continues and I get reported and account suspended.
Final instance (account closeure): Playing quick play and we start losing. I notice the healers on our team are focusing more on DPS instead of healing. I decide to point this out as ive made an observation. The mercy player then goes “well maybe I wont heal you then, goodluck!” My IMMEDIATE response “So youre basically admitting to throwing the game?” Mercy player and the 2 other people they were grouped with report and flame me the rest of the game. Find out after another game I played my account has been perma banned.
So just to add more fuel to the fire here are even more reasons to NOT play this game.
-other people can be insanely toxic but if you call them out on their negativity YOU get punished for it.
-Blizzard charging $20 per skin in micro transactions that would make EA green with envy.
-Blizzards stellar reputation of “hey, lets charge people an arm and a leg for basic cosmetics but when it comes to bugs that we should probably fix, lets take about 3 weeks!” (Case in point the current bug with the sensitivity going to the nearest whole number STILL not corrected and he 1 month it took to fix hanzo’s recoil bug.)
-The multitude of hackers that are allowed to get away with murder and are never punished for it.
At this point if you still wish to play this backwards game with devs who dont even follow their own TOS then all I can say is I wish you luck when you eventually get account closed
It wasnt even arguing. It was just trying to break through and establish a reasonable dialogue but yeah. If I do decide to make a new account im just muting all forms of chat and communication since thats how blizzard expects this game to be played
Your account would never be permabanned just for instances like those very last two. There’s much more to it than that that you’re not saying and you know this.
now i just keep making new alts. as the alts get penalized i learn what i can and cannot say
so blizzard is allowing cheaters to keep playing but ban anyone that says a bad word. these people then just make new accounts and become more toxic or cheat more
blizzard isn’t ready to tackle the free2play gaming market and the game proves it. every qp game has at least 2-3 leavers, you can see cheaters in all ranks, the entire playerbase is toxic etc
the matchmaker is also busted for quickplay which is where a lot of people just want to play and chill a bit
i can honestly say i’m sorry but… why talk about your condition with perfect strangers that you will play with for… 20-30 minutes? and never see them again? sure, unless they’re your regular friends it’s fine but… I don’t think it’s a useful discussion point, always bearing in mind that flame is always wrong, especially if it touches personal matters.
and here you are wrong: they have often said that the reports are a hodgepodge of reports of many different matches and not just ONE match. Considering that neither I nor anyone else here knows how you usually behave or communicate (or if you have a touch of sarcasm in the way you bring to others), it is unlikely that you can find A match as the only cause, in the case of a bad ban behavior. however, we do know that immediate reports involve cheating.
it’s not my business how you communicate or behave with others… but it seems really difficult to me that you can accuse only ONE match of a permanent ban, even for an automatic system. I can only defend this of your argument: blizzard screwed up to release OW2 without an aggregation tool like find a group (removed) or a clan system. they have not even corrected the discomfort of not being able to see the statistics online (it re-rides you on a 404 page), which denotes very little professionalism in the self-analytical confidence of the community. the same goes for the absence of real training phases, entrusted only to amateur workshops rather than with official methods. so newbies think “this is my colorful COD” (wrong, man).
So even though I have never been suspended in OW during my almost 3500 hours played, you’re saying that I should leave the game because you chose to use chat for a.) information nobody asked for (your disability and consequent arguments about it) and b.) to be toxic when teammates aren’t playing the game the way you like?

I’ve given my 2 cents with a side of sarcasm on VC and chat multiple times and I have zero suspensions/silences in game my dude. You are doing something A LOT and probably on a very consistent basis if you got banned.
Learn your lesson and check yourself out, because other games will also not be very tolerant.
Both times. Nobody wanted (or needed) to know about his physical condition, and I bet he got really combative about it (which he conveniently left out). I also bet he said some epic gamer words to the supports because they were “DPS healers” or whatever.
You can’t get banned for one instance of bad behavior, and you definitely don’t get banned if you weren’t doing something you weren’t supposed to.
No, I dont know this. Ive literally had this happen because all I ever communicate to the healers is “Hey you should heal more instead of focusing on DPS” which anyone in their right mind would go “Oh ok, thats a good solution and not unreasonable.” Ive also exclusively played Quick match and if you have played this game for any significant length of time to understand how the blizzard reporting system works then you’d realize if enough people report you for saying something that should be logically obvious you WILL get account suspended or silenced. The blizzard GM or dev team doesnt give a rats rear end about upholding the rules on the TOS because they pander to the mob. If the mob reports you for just making an observation then guess what? They rule in the mobs favor
As someone who has gotten an action revoked before through tickets (I got silenced for saying “GG” after winning matches against salty players) the system does work. Obviously due to this reality nobody will deny that you could get falsely suspended, but the amount of reports you need to accumulate is extraordinarily high nowadays and if they do not respond to your tickets/complaints positively and double down on the accuracy of said actions; then it is almost completely surely your fault. Note that lashing back is not allowed as toxicity to combat toxicity makes both players be at fault (eye for an eye is a horrible mentality), spending half of every match explaining your behavior and AFKing is not recommended, players generally do not get bashed for their performance consistently unless there is something blatantly wrong or upsetting about it; and overall you should note that while the bland saying “if you have nothing positive to say, don’t say it” does not apply, a better version if you have nothing but rude things to say, don’t say it" applies to the games in general
This is again not to say that something wrong has happened, but almost always when these topics come up on the forums sadly the OPs themselves more than often do engage in some form of toxicity lashing back at the players and stooping down on their level or engage in disruptive behavior. Hence why everyone is very much sceptic about these topics, especially when they do revoke false actions very much actively and accurately
Except they dont revoke actions they take unless someone has video evidence (IE streamers and youtube personalities) so your average player is basically screwed and if I had the chat logs available of things ive said and responded to id happily post them. Its few and far between that ive ever gotten reported for anything that went like this:
Me: Hey, heals, you need to focus more on healing the team than DPSing. Thats not your main role or priority.
Person: Well maybe I wont heal YOU then since you wanna be a crybaby about it.
Me: Ok well ill happily report you for toxocity and basically admitting youre throwing.
Followed by the band of friends they they bring with them all jumping down my throat.
