In Unranked, players can leave during hero-select without penalty. Does this also apply to Competitive mode?
No, it doesn’t work like that in comp. After the queue has popped in comp, you’ll be penalized.
Ok thanks
Can we? I know we could in OW1, but I’ve heard it counts as leaving during the game in OW2. People lose endorsements and get xp penalties even if they leave during hero select.
Would like to know for sure, because I’m pretty sick of Push and my duo thinks he’s gonna hate Flashpoint.
You can leave during Team Assembly (the 1st counter) with no penalty. If you leave during the 2nd counter you get penalised. So leave quick and avoid someone on your way out or you will be pulled back in and it will be too late to leave again.
In OW 1 it was the same. Once you found a match in competitive you could not leave or it would be counted as a loss + penalty. The same applies to OW 2.
Nope. Any leaving in competitive penalizes you.
As for leaving and returning, I don’t know. I feel like it shouldn’t? Haven’t personally experienced an internet fart during comp to know.
Also, I’ve left games in hero-select for Quick Play and I’ve lost Endorsement for how often I left Push maps. Pretty sure it’s a f- you no matter what.
See, this is why I’m confused. I get people saying you can leave unranked matches during hero select with no penalty, others saying you can’t.
It’s not a penalty to leave QP if you don’t care about Endorsement level. I’m pretty sure that’s all it affects.
You will lose endorsement level but you won’t get a leaver penalty
I leave control maps all the time with no penalty, but only if the match is fresh and nobody has spawned in with their pick. Backfill is a no go, also. I was hoping to avoid control in competitive as well, but that doesn’t seem possible
Are you sure? I’ve probably left 100 control maps in the recent past and am still at endorsement 3, and I don’t get that many endorsements to offset it. If it does penalize endorsement, it’s a very very slow decay.
