Leaver Solution?

I think there’s a solution for leavers that Blizzard hasn’t considered. Instead of punishing the leavers and trolls, they should send a notification to the leaver if the team they left won the game. This will play on their egos and be hilarious as well.
If you have any fun and entertaining way of tackling this problem, please post.

Yes, that would be great. And it happens a lot, actually.

I think you forget to remember that many leavers, do not leave intentionally, but are those who have a technical issue. Having a technical issue is extremely frustrating, especially when you are not expecting it, what you propose is nothing less than…

In short, I feel like this is more or less trying to make them feel bad. Blizzard’s philosophy of Play Nice, Play Fair is more focused on correcting bad behavior, rather than seeking revenge.

They should just do like GTA V did. Leavers and trolls get put onto teams with eachother and only eachother. Basically leavers and trolls playing against leavers and trolls and getting a taste of their own medecine until their behaviour improves enough that they graduate back to normal servers.

Is there no way for them to tell who clicked on quit and who actually d/c?

They can tell the difference when a person does click Leave Game versus any kind of disconnection, but it is impossible for a game server to tell when a player has a legitimate disconnection versus somebody who decides to do this…

This is why penalties for both direct leavers and those with disconnections are treated equally and starts relatively small (to allow those to correct the problem and have a fair chance to play again).

For the leavers that leave on purpose, yes. But there could be a message that states, we’re sorry for your disconnect if it wasn’t your fault, or something. It could be a consolation to know that your technical difficulties didn’t ruin the game for your teammates. At least that’s how I’d see it.

Or leaving you get somthing like a 3k xp penalty or back to 0 if you dont have 3k xp for that level.

Those technical issues some to coincidently arise when they are about to lose or lose 1st objective. If it was many RNG says i should see it more at random intervals then that

I see a few problems with this:

  1. People will just use all the instances where they didnt receive this notification as justification that leaving was OK
  2. Outside of comp, people sometimes do have to leave for legitimate reasons. Rubbing it in their faces when they didnt do anything wrong isn’t a good idea.
  3. I’m betting most people who leave wouldn’t actually care.
