If either team gets a leaver the match is automatically a draw. No winner or looser and for the leaver the penalty needs to be more strict, suspended for 20 minutes, 2nd, 40 minutes and so on.
You will just get even more leavers as people would rather leave than lose. Maybe if it counts as a loss only for the leaver then it might work, but then people will complain about random disconnects being counted as a loss.
Yes but on top of having them suspended, their ranking lowers.
rip having random disconnects then. there is a reason that these āsolutionsā to the leaver problems arent gonna work. because it will hit people other than leavers
Having random disconnects (if you dont rejoin in time) already counts as a loss AFAIK.
So what the OP suggests (Leaver getting leaver penalty + SR deduction, and all the rest get a draw) sounds wonderful to me.
+1
Nope, this obviously will be immediately purposefully abused as a small-blood measure to escape from about-to-loose matches.
Ya but if you are sure to loose and you leave not only do you loose but you get suspended and your ranking cause down.
Teams will have a āscape-goatā account which they will use to leave matches on purpose when necessary so the rest five members retain their ratings.
The fact that its even possible and someone would think of doing it, is pretty sad lol
If im getting steamrolled, im not having fun.
If im not having fun, i leave.
If they make it so i cant leave, i dont play.
Then teams would be able to manipulate their SR by choosing the weakest links in their teams to leave, thus saving the rest of the team from a loss in exchange for only one person taking a hit. In a large stack, teams could easily exchange out whoās taking the losses, effectively allowing them to pick and choose their wins for as long as theyāre willing to teeter around a ban. Consider a full six-stack being allowed to choose six games where they can avoid a loss and make it a draw. And if it isnāt six-stacks or even any stacks, then it would still encourage toxic teammates to bully and harass teammates into leaving, again in an attempt to avoid taking a loss.
Consider as well how this would feel for the enemy team. Imagine youāre completely rolling the enemy team, and it seems like a solid win is in sight, when suddenly it ends in a draw because someone on the other team realized, āIf Iām gonna lose hard, and if this is going to be my last for the night, then I might as well hurry up, take the loss I was going to get, and spoil the fun for the enemy team. Heck, Iām even saving five other playersā SR at the same time, so if anything, Iām helping out my team as best as we can in a game that looks like a guaranteed loss.ā I dunno about you, but I donāt want my wins spoiled like this.
The current system is about as good as it can get. Itās really no different than if you had a teammate that just stopped playing the game and sat in spawn, you would still lose that game but without getting a free draw from it. Itās an unfortunate reality with online games, it isnāt a very easy problem to fix without causing a bunch of other problems, problems that usually only effect well-intended players.
They could check that the player didnāt choose to leave via the UI, but then they would just pull the plug on their internet to make it look like a disconnect.
The only way you EDUCATE a kid is with discipline before of the LOVE
If you give LOVE and PERMISION before discipline you create SELFISH-MONSTERS.
Quick-Play should have a leaver penalty and keep arcade with NO penalties so people can go to troll there.
FIRST leave of the day 10 mins penalty
Second leave of the day 20 mins
Third leave of the day 30 mins
Four leave of the day 40 mins
Five leave of the day 12 hours
You are giving to the childs 4 leaves per day if they need more than that. At this point they are TROLLING and not playing
then why havent they done it like that to begin with? I really think that they cant detect the difference between server issues and intentional disconnects, and that is why they dont punish leavers that much compaired to what they could do.
They should be able to tell if itās a server side issue, but if someone pulls the plug, resets their router or something goes wrong with your ISP or somewhere further down the route then it will all look the same to them.
If there is a leaver then just dont have people who lose not lose any SR
I wouldnāt be mad if this were implemented into the game, however I think most players wouldnāt find it worth it to play out the game knowing the match will be a draw and no one is gaining sr. I also believe if leavers were delt penalties for leaving a competitive it should be at least 30 minutes for the leave then 60 minutes etc.
