That still doesn’t help though. You can still agree on someone taking the hit if the team consists of six solo players, which could lead to a lot more toxicity than we already have. Granted I should have pointed that out in my original post.
I see your point. So then maybe reduce the SR gain of the winning team?
They obviously don’t deserve it.
Don’t be so selfish, its a team game that’s why. You really have to ask?
Why its so hard to just not leave
I know sometimes you have to do so, but you simply cant win every time, just accept your loss and stay to the end.
Because:
1- You only get it when you leave more often.
2- No one wants to backfill.
3- you ruined the game for your team.
4- you gave up instead of using your brain.
Another person who feels the world revolves around them and no one else exists. They also don’t care what other people experience.
You OP are a pain in many peoples behinds because you’re causing people like me to keep backfilling into matches. Once I hadn’t played the game in about a week so I sat down to relax and knock some casual games out. The FIRST FOUR matches I queued up for I BACKFILLED into. Three of those ended in less than 10 seconds. I just logged out of the game. It’s people like YOU that ruin this game for others. If it was up to me I would increase penalties and make it so you get a 30min queue ban just like if you leave a dungeon in an MMO game before it ends.
Fully Agree… even though I would start smal… like 1 minute up to 5 for consecutive leaving.
This entire “I don’t have fun I LOSE, I leave” culture should have never become a thing and should be rooted out to the last.
You can honestly tell meyou enjoy losing and losing badly? Getting stomped is embarrassing, you might like bring embarrassed but i sure dont, and also being terrible at anything or coming in last place is never ever a good thing
This actually brings up an interesting thought.
What is worse: A leaver or someone who actively chooses not to participate in the match (aka a thrower)?
I can see the two being equally bad in comp, but in most any other game mode you can queue for, at least leavers will be replaced.
I think the punishment is good enough for comp, because you DO actually get put in time out for leaving a match early and if you do it enough you can get banned for the season.
I feel like in any other game mode, though, the punishments put in place are fair enough. Endorsements and loot boxes are trivial but for the people who want that kind of thing bad enough, it’s decent enough incentive to not leave games.
because it’s qp and they can be replaced. leaver penalty is fine, though i’d like it gone. but if i’m not having fun i’m done. i can have fun when losing but if i’m getting focused no matter who i switch to it’s frustrating and i dont wanna waste my time being angry
What kinda games you play? The only game that I had something close to that (I think it was 20 and something minutes) was a draw.
It’s a gaaaaame… You win some and you lose some. If you’re going to queue up for a match then STAY THE ENTIRE MATCH!
Oh my bad, maybe I should throw like everyone else and just run into the enemy team and die repeatedly.
I dont like wasting time in games where my teammate don’t even have 1 k/d ratio the first few team fights in. It’s a sign of a badly matched game with a snowball inbound due to ult advantage. Overwatch takes a lot of energy, no point wasting it on badly matched games.
Stop playing overwatch please.
Because I’ve come back from 0-3 in Rainbow Six: Siege. That’s match point by the way, we had to win 4 games in a row and I think there was overtime so 5. I know that’s another game but I mean that’s a game some would consider a loss once it hit 0-3.
Tbf. In that game. bad teammates matter a lot less, I remember the first time I won a 1v4 round, the adrenaline rush was amazing.
Onto the main topic: if I see 4 DPS I leave regardless of what point the games at. My time is far too precious to waste it babysitting.
If its a 20+ minute match, that is NOT unwinnable. The only way its going to get up that high is if its evenly matched and you have a chance of winning. If its truly an unwinnable match, then it will be a steamroll which means it will only last as long as the timers, which means about 10ish minutes tops. Most likely much less than that though since they’ll probably completely erase your team from existence and do whatever is needed to win for the mode you’re on.
Personally, there is never a reason to leave a match. I don’t care if its a smurf account, an alt account, you think the match is clearly a loss, there is zero reason. If you’re playing comp, you finish that match and you do your best the entire time. That’s all there is to it. If you can’t be prepared to give it your all, even despite something that may be a loss, then you shouldn’t be playing comp. Too many times where the enemy seemingly steamrolls on attack but actually sucks on defense. In fact, just yesterday, I was playing Hanamura. The enemy attacked first, got the first 2 points in about a minute in total. Did we give up? No. We did it right back and capped both points in about a minute and a half.
Because I shouldn’t have to be backfilled to try and clean up/salvage YOUR MESS that you left behind.
they should at minimum be unable to play until the match they’ve left has ended
A lot of people are giving the OP crap, but why should he have to suck it up when he’s clearly not having fun? How is that any more selfish than the other players playing respawn simulator?
If my team is getting utterly destroyed and don’t bother to even switch, I’m going to leave as well. Why stick around when I already know the outcome?
