If you’re not a support player the hardest part of OW2 is getting into a match.

If the queues are like this in October game will flop hard

Starting to think the best argument for why Symm should be in the Support role, is just for queue times sake.

I’m sure they are aware of it. The next beta round, which might actually be large, is soon.

Still, RIP to anyone who paid forty bucks to help THEM test and this is the queue time. :grimacing:

Guess we’ll have to see what Tomorrow’s Support patch does to queue times.

Or they could do this stuff.

Or Support Symm, or just fix Mercy SJ with maybe a bump to 55hp.

Oh it will be. An already low population combined with one role that absolutely no one wants to play that requires 2 spots just to start a match is a recipe for disaster.

Nah. There will be many people playing at launch. What happens after that is anyone’s guess though.

For a month or 2, sure. Then it will fall off a cliff like Halo Infinite did. And queue times will still suck regardless because there are always roles that no one plays. DPS queue times in OW1 have always been pathetic and now in OW2 DPS and tank times are ridiculous.

And OQ is unplayable because everything is being balanced around RQ. I don’t believe anyone at Blizzard plays this game. Because no actual gamer could play this crap and decide that it’s a fun experiences that the masses will enjoy.

It will be interesting to see how a new player, who never touched OW will react to the game:

Chooses support → Is berated, blamed, asked for heals all the time. Bullied by DPS without little chance to fight back → doesnt like the experience, leaves the match.

Ok lets try Tank or dps then to see if its a better experience - 10-20 min later… oh here it is. The enemy team sups left the game and we are back into Matchmaking queue.

Gives up and go back to ther f2p games

You all have to understand that New players have no sworn faithfulness to the game, they will leave as soon as the experience gets a little bit annoying for them. It can happen in-game or when the Queues take way too long to even start a game.

So yeah, F2p will increase the number of people in the playerbase but if the Overwatch 2 experience starts to bother them even a little, its over, they will hover back from where they came.

it takes like 4 minutes for me to get a game, not the greatest but not bad

That’s exactly how it will go. OW is one of the least newcomer friendly games out there. Most people still playing started playing when it first came out and we were all learning the game at the same time so we are used to it now.

I’ve tried to jump into MOBAs like LoL and Dota 2 before while having no clue what I was doing. Nope. Never again. That’s what OW2 will feel like for someone unfamiliar with OW.

They need to make voice and text comms friends only, only way to stop toxicity.

Even if Queue times somehow stabilize in the next beta/release, is kinda of amazing how badly they thought this one out.

Even in their private builds supports didnt sound appealing

Like, people would of course want to try tanks in the 5v5 enviroments even without new hereos due to the play style change and soft reworks and even then they decided to give pretty much 2 new tanks, they gave DPS a new character and support got nothing

Fast forward to the second beta and we get a new Tank and Support nerfs, like my god how did no one in the dev team thought for a second that support sounds so unappealing.

Edit: Second beta also had a fair share of DPS changes at least worth trying unlike buggy GA and 1 less sec on discord

Yes. And now with the low-ttk that the FPS-pros wanted so much for “Muh faster and more dynamic game” it will have little room for error, they will be lost, die fast and be frustrated even faster. It is a very difficult game to get into.

OW was at its peak when it embraced its own casual nature a lot more now its just turned into something else. OW1 wasnt very welcoming but there were some heroes some newcomers could at least try to feel a bit from the game. OW2 managed to be even more threatening to newcomers.

Unless Blizzard creates a very good tutorial explaning the mechanics of the game so newcomers are not overwhelmed with… …what the hell I am saying? Of course they wont do anything of such
