Latency issues. WinMTR results. Help wanted

I 'm requesting help from Blizzard, or anyone else, with the latency issues I’m having. I really enjoy playing this game, but the lag has made it unplayable. My area is south Texas, and my isp is VTX1 Companies. Thank you.

Try using an ethernet cable instead of using a wireless connection. Not only will your wifi be faster, but you’ll also have more stable wifi.
I would also suggest running an online speed test. If the speed test says your internet is good, but the problem persists, then there may be issues on Blizzard’s side, not yours.

I think you are getting routed to one of the South American servers if I am reading this correctly. Do you normally connect to Los Angeles or Chicago servers? Try manually running a WinMTR to one of these IP address:

  • US West - 24.105.30.129
  • US Central - 24.105.62.129

For you the problem seems to be starting at an ISP hub (the second from your home), ae5-0.agr01.ftzg01-ga.us.windstream.net It is recording a really bad worst latency rate and a high average for what appears to be the first hub that you connect to. Call your ISP for help on this one.

Your problem appears to be similar to that Veodok’s, but its the first hub outside of your home. Again though call your ISP for help if the problem persists.

A speedtest only connects to a third party server to measure base internet speed and bandwidth of the connection. The WinMTRs that these players have provided are a clear roadmap to the game server and measure ping rate at each hub, making it easy for me and Blizzard support agents to pinpoint issues.

The speedtest results will provide us with more insight to their internet issue, as it will inform us if they are having problems with their internet in general, or just specific areas (i.e. Overwatch)

Wasn’t sure if I should run the game as it would be a different ip. But, ran it anyway at the same time. These were the results for US West and Central. I have to take a relative to the hospital, but any additional information you need I can provide it. Thank you.
